Show Poge 4 October 1 EDITORIAL PAGE USU the asphalt jungle There are always the standing topics that arise in a campus newspaper and the first of the year seems to be prime time for the parking problem Every year students cry foul as they drive to school with their precious parking stickers in search of their own little corner of the asphalt jungle Always students expound on the shortage of parking and the fact that they pay in the 25 cent lot while sporting a yearly parking permit After pondering the parking problem have come up with a solution which should make all those tar jockies happy First let's put a three tier parking lot on the quad why have all that wasted space A nice sheet of asphalt over the UC lawn would not only lessen the problems of ground maintainence but offer a few more spots for those park happy people Now must admit that there I have to dayshat to resort jumping in the '65 wonder to make it to campus but the lack of parking spaces doesn't bother me as much as the people who feel it takes two spaces to park their Toyota or one entire parking space for a Honda 175 Shortage of parking spaces near a university is nothing new If anyone here has ever traveled to Weber State College in Ogden they know how good a college can Iook which gears itself towards parking totally realize that some students do not live near the university and that they do have to drive from areas but there are always spaces near the university on streets just a block or two from campus After all a little brisk walk in the morning can be a good release for the hatred building up inside because you couldn't find a space outside the Business building FRANKLY SPEAKING by phil frank I I -re -- I out-lyin- g WHEN THE' SUN GOES COWN AND THE TIDE GOES OUT TOE PEOPLE GATHEJ?
