fered identification his mind for something that would clinch the identification He remembered a chipped upper tooth The vet said there was one and Bill decided to make the trip to LA His wife drove him to the edge of Logan and he hitchhiked to Salt Lake City But drivers were less Bill searched hospitable about rides westbound from Salt Lake City After hours of standing by the highway Bill walked back into Salt Lake City and climbed on a bus The next morning he reached the kennel HEADING DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTE'S - passing postman shared his lunch with the dog A Pan Am staff members wanted for their if families at Christmas no owner showed up to adopt the poodle one will ever know the full details of how this animal survived the ordeal Bill believes the hundreds of miles the two walked No together at elevations above feet in the Andes conditioned Puppy for these 18 months “He probably became a scavenger living on garbage and whatever else he could find We know he used a culvert as a retreat part of the time He aged five years in the 18 months but gradually- -
