publication under the direction of the first presidency we started on a mission to sanpete and sevier counties for the purpose of organizing sanpete county into the united order and also to organize a stake in the northern part of sanpete county and another at richfield rich bieh field in sevier co we were accompanied on our mission byeller by elder eider johnian john van cott and were joined at provo by bishop johnson of that city we started by rail on the of may and the same evening elder taylor held heid a meeting at spring ville the following day we went to nephi and held meeting in the evening the next day we proceeded on our out journey preaching at fountain green and moroni on tho th we held hoid two meetings at mount pleasant where we had bad the pleasure of meeting president 0 on hyde whom we gladly hailed as president of that district and a fellow laborer in the great cause on the we went to t 0 spring sprin city and preached in the ate tte afternoon and from thence to ephraim the same day dy on the we held heid two meetings at ephraim on the we preached at mantl in the morning and afternoon and elder J van cott and bishop johnson held a danish meeting in the tho evenin evening As there are a great many danish banish brethren in that county and ns as both of them that language they held several meetings of the same kind in our various teachings in san pete county we laid before the people the principles of the united order as made known in the scriptures and the book of mormon as revealed by joseph smith in the book of doctrine and covenants and the late lato developments by president brigham young we told them to use prudence and caution in the selection of their own officers choosing the most trustworthy honorable and competent men to fill those various of flees offices and to have their appointees ready and that when we returned wo we would again call at the several settlements tle ments hold meetings and organize them thela in the united order and thus they would have time to reflect elect tand and deliberate and select the most suitable persons on the alst we proceeded to gunnison pison and preached in the evening from thence mews news dear sir the Sti sunday diday fiday school jubilee concert commencing at p in came off yesterday in the new tabernacle in splendid style the exercises opened with prayer by elder A carrington the pro gramme of the grand performance for mance on the bath dinst was repeated with additional music by the orchestra and songs by mrs professor thomas assisted by miss A parke well rendered professor thomas conducted excellent order prevailed and all enjoyed a rare musical treat if there be one study or exercise more than another calculated to beautify the countenance and elevate the soul it is music instrumental and vocal focal it is anticipated that our great success and triumph achieved in this celebration will open up a broader highway in this delightful section of
