Show Granite Lists Names for New Schools V -- . gpedai to The Tribune GRANITE PARK Granite School District Board of Education has met the problem of naming new schools head-o- n and has provided names for four high schools, three junior high schools and 10 elementary schools which will be built in the next few years. THE BOARD is no longer content to wait until a school is under construction before nam-fng- it In the past the board occasionally has left the chore of naming schools to the architect They placed a name on the drawings and that name often stuck. PARENT .Teachers school students and patrons were polled for suggested names of the schools. A board committee then sifted the names and the entire board agreed on a final name which varied - in some cases from those suggested by the committee. Areas, mountains, presidents, podtS and educators are honored in the selections. THE HIGH schools are Redwood, to be constucted at 3700 S. 1600 West; Oquirrh, 4800 W. 5500 South; Cottonwood, 0 East, and Empire, 4700 S.
