Allreds appointment will run through December 1986. As a member of the committee, Allred will advise Nielson on pending legislation regarding agriculture. He and other committee members will study various bills, summarize their pros and cons, and will then come to quarterly meetings prepared to advise Nielson regarding the legislation. I found during my first term that advisory committees were of tremendous help to me as I sought to make decisions on complicated bills, Nielson explains. Very few issues in Congress are strictly black and white. Most are extremely complex, and most have implications. Nielson adds that he has asked people like Allred, who are recognized in their fields, to lend their experience and their knowledge of current conditions to assist in his decision-makinprocess. It would be impossible for me to become an expert in every one of the areas in which I am called on to pass legisSo Nielson says. lation, I rely on people, like Rey, who have spent a lifetime getting the kind of experience that is often necessary in making decisions about complex legislation. g Club organized 4-- H The club held its first meeting for the girls of the 13th Ward area of West Mountain on March 15th at the home of Mrs. Marilee Jolley.
