Show Page 4 Thursday, July 9, 1959 THE VALLEY VIEW NEWS cuU Oum Farm Problems Will Be Discussed In July Mid-summ- er By Jessie Olsen Old Glory was raised by five boys of the 9th Ward scout troop under the direction of Harold Lloyd, at the flag pole in the park area to the south of the West Kearns School, the morning of the 4th of July. This same troop was also in charge of the lowering of the flag at sundown. Scout Troop 214, under the direction of their Scoutmaster, Dale Partridge, will indulge in a weekend camping trip July 23, 24 and 25. About twelve boys are expected to participate in the outing. Several weekend outings have been planned for the troop in place of the annual yearly outing for one week during the summer. farm problems and what to do about them, will be discussed during July Mid-summ- on THIS BUSINESS Through contact with the Salt Lake Council, the visting troops were assigned to the Kearns troop, as the Kearns troop are the newest senior group in the area. The Kearns scouts felt it an honor to receive the girls and to show them around. A bus was chartered to show the visting group our valley. After a tour to the Temple grounds, museum, copper pits and the Great Salt Lake, a patio supper was enjoyed by the combined group at the home of Wanda Whittle. Mrs. Glora Parkin, district scout leader for the Oquirrh district, who was in attendance through the outing, wishes to publicly thank Norma Bambrough and Wanda Whittle for the work and effort they gave in making the whole event a success.
