C: J THE OGDEN It’s Senior Citizen Week in Ogden To observe the occasion members of the1 Golden Hour Center are holding open house today from 1 to 6 p m for Ogdcnites to see their new home at 1220 23rd Visitors will be welcome throughout the week ' also “Grow instead of groan” is the motto of (he ' Center The Center was established two years ago in the former Dee Hospital Nurses Home under direction of Mrs Drew M Petersen a board member of the Community Welfare Council and Mrs Garth Peck of the Ogden Junior League as a project of the organizations Members ot the Ogden Kiwanis Club aided in the venture paying the first and T&TT ' f :" X'X s $ ' x r ‘ Wo v' ? jwftar x - : v x vv ' ' p V"’V’SvT i ' x- xw'v 5 ?' '"''CM - ’ s - Tuesday and a painting class under direction of Mrs A L Stark is given on Wednesday Thursday is a special day It’s a time and foursomes for cards and gajnes are made up for the afternoon with a potluck dinner for the evening followed by dancing until 10 A cake is featured to honor those who have birthdays in the current month time an$ all members take Friday is clean-uOn Saturday afternoon in the work doing part folk take and up the time clidancing square maxed by refreshments Besides the planned recreation reading television picnics and tours are enjoyed Members are planning a camping trip for three days at Camp Kiesel June 4 5 and 6 This will include outdoor cooking fishing games and dancing It is anticipated that about 25 or 30 will participate' The potential plan of the Center is to add an auditorium to the building to' expand1 its program and to provide a place for an outlet for talent in cultural fields Officers and board members are Mrs Drew M Petersen president Mrs Garth Peck vice president Jim Garrison secretary LaVaun Herbert treasurer Mrs Lloyd Alkema Mrs Jack R Brown1 j year’s rent Tp 'Tv vs 1960 get-acquaint-ed i! ’ MAY 22 V v v" 1C R SUNDAY MORNING OGDEN UTAH !
