The residential construction is so far ahead ,f howevert that cumulative total permit authorized building construe. eon Is only 0.7 per cent below the 1958 valuation for the same period. Total construction for 1959 is valued at $119.7 million, compared to $120.6 million in 1958. Nonresidential construction for 1959 through August was $39.7 million, compared to $52.2 million for a year ago. Cache, Davis .'and Weber counties are the only counties which have experienced substantial increases during the first eight months of the year. Salt Lake and Utah counties have dropped 41 and 24 per cent, respectively. ' This year's residential construction is currently 16.6 per cent above 1958 with valuations of $67.2 million, compared with $57.6 milliorrin 1958. ,Cache, Weber and Utah counties accounted for Much of the construction.
