the quorum of apostles they met every Thurs thursday dar without fall and have bare done so for many years in these meetings they sing and pray and deliberate up on the affairs of zion and always find plenty of business to take up tip their attention he felt that the saints throughout the church should be wakeful and watchful in the work of the lord he asked particularly for reports of the number that had been converted in the he different walks by the work of the people both as individuals divi duals and organizations prest oleen N X stohl reported the box elder stake saying that ali the presidency worked in absolute harmony endeavoring to do their whole duty by the people said that the auxiliary organizations in the stake manifest more interest in their work than do the quorums of the priesthood there Is a growing indifference to spiritual things which con is attributed to the fact that god had so blessed the inhabitants of this section of the country that they feel like fike they had no time to j devote to spiritual things but were kept busy looking after the things of the world with which they are surrounded there are not quite as many missionaries out from this stake as usual but there are a few who will leave in the near f future u etire to so that the number will be just about on a par with what it has been one thing that the speaker deplored ary very mu much Is the disinclination disinclination im among 0 g people to take upon themselves the responsibility of marriage he believed that tile the feeling existed among the women as well as among the men the been organized gani zed and meetings kept up for the last four years to this meeting the bishop attributes the love loie and unify y that exists among the teachers reported 13 baptisms of what are commonly called outsiders meaning those who do not belong to the mormon families These have taken place during this year and two more heads of families have applied for baptism in these families six children who were two young to be baptized were blessed according to the custom of the church the bishopric has met with the lesser priesthood regularly for some years past there are some people who disregard the sabbath break the word of wisdom fall to pay tithing and do not attend sacrament meetings but they are the minority he had noted an average attendance of somewhat better than 30 50 per cent of the acting teachers at sacrament meetings during the present year and believed that as with the priests so with the people bishop wright ic ie ported that he be and his counselors had never had any difficulty in getting along and believed they were in possession of the spirit of the lord as a bishopric they hold meetings every saturday night the acting teachers in that tto ito their work but the majority of them do out of 0 in ALI ahli ward sikho not belong to th ant they are good people and some of them aid in the affairs of the ward such as fast offerings and donations bishop francillo durfey of beaver said that his ward was located right along the county road and was about eight miles long lie he believed that people there were living their religion as well at present or better than they had ever done before the mishop and lils ills counselors worked with the teachers and much good was being the young people in the ward waid attend meeting better than the old folks and one thing that he was very gratified to report was that there was no work lone done there on the sabbath and that very few ir if any under 20 years of age used to dibacco bishop peter M hansen of elwood gave the enrollment of the various i auxiliary organizations in the ward and said they had two on oil ml missions and three would leave within two months the population of his ward is about
