M1 outside career resources so we are not only prepared to find success in an academic world but also in the workplace. I want to be able to show off how unique and remarkable Westminster students I plan to continue the current May Term scholarship fund, and want to expand it to a Study Abroad scholarship fund as well. Everyone on this campus should be able to have the opportunity to participate in either May term or study abroad. Westminster really is a unique place, full of potential and impressive students. I have loved being a student leader on this campus and being able to work with so many forward thinkers and I cannot wait to see what Westminster has in. store for all of us. really are. ASWC President candidate "We're "m JS . b I a I 1 4 - studies number one priority as President will be to our job opportunities and help students reach their dream jobs, because that is why we are all here. I plan to connect more with Westminster alumni, because we have outstanding alumni that can easily help the networking, process. I also want to use i, I' All In" mnning for ICC president because clubs have played a .large role in my college career-- I joined five clubs in my first semester. My goal as ICC President is to increase the branch's brand recognition by encouraging as many people as possible to get involved in clubs. The steps I'll take include pursuing a partnership with admissions to tell the prospective students more about the awesomeness of our clubs. I also want to increase ICC's role in orientation and welcome week to constudents as early as posnect first-ye- ar sible. I also plan to continue to follow up with students through various advertising channels about the opportunities our clubs offer throughout the year. I have learned about growing the role of an organization during my time as our Residence Hall Association president, when I oversaw the transition from ARWC to RHA. I believe I can apply this experience to the growth of ICC's brand recognition and also help clubs develop individual plans to grow larger. I also spent two years in SAC, which not only taught me event planning but also how to lead in a successful organization. I'm excited to work with the club presidents who are some of the best leaders at Westminster. Most importantly, I believe ICC has the potential to be recognized across campus as a source for leadership development and fun. k 1 Kailey Kornhauser VP candidate , Trey Hansen Junior, history "The Collective" Sophomore, have spent the last two years in the ASWC Senate, and began as Senator my sophomore year. During my term, I produced legislation in support of the Purple Line streetcar route on 1100 E., and helped draft the Committee Formation Act that restructured the Senate to its current format. This year I have served Senator and the Speaker as a junior-ye- ar of the Senate. In this role, I have implemented five new committees that represent students in every part of their lives within the' college. Currently, many academic, staff and faculty committees have student representatives. These representatives are not elected and there is no format for them to speak to students or receive feedback. I will install an independent agency in second-ye- ' i Megan Peters Junior, marketingfilm Junior, communication "We're All In" .a President candidate t L ar Chief Justice candidate- ASWC that provides an infrastructure that selects student representatives for these committees, and provides them with a platform to speak with students. Additionally, I will demand on behalf of students two voting members on the Board of Trustees for both students and faculty. These voting positions will further ensure our students and faculty are represented at every level of the institution. The Collective is a group of students who will bring experience and innovation to student advocacy in every way. We believe that students need advocates rather than leaders who will represent them in every way possible. Our team has a unique set of experiences that have given us the preparation needed to make these innovative changes. sci-enceEngl- 've been a freshman class Senator and served as your ASWC Chief .Justice. As a senator, I passed numerous pieces of legislation (Allocation of Recycled Activity Funds Bill and the Committee Formation Act). As Chief Justice, I have made public every bill from the past 10 years, amended the Judicial Code, held a hearing with regards to SAC's budget and their charters amendment process and have worked tirelessly on putting constitutional amendments on the docket for the students to vote upon. I successfully implemented every single campaign platform I promised last spring. us wall offer interested students applicable job experience, allow for student, pro- fessor and guest lectures, give students an opportunity to receive information outside of their emails and allow college students to play music. I will also work to see Westminster College added to the list of colleges applicable to intern with the Utah State Legislature. Lasdy, I would like to assist in improving the mentoring programs already operating on campus. I've done well in representing you before, and I'd love to continue to in this new position. President candidate s am running for this position because of my genuine compassion to help the community, and I wall advocate for greater student representation on campus. I have supported students through offering feedback on Westminsters Strategic Plan- and actively participating in the Senate. The position of Chief Justice requires complete knowledge of the schools constitution. My primary goal is to create a more competent, transparent and effective restructuring of our current system - on-camp- Junior, finance "The Collective" ish "The Collective" I I plan on establishing an internet radio station that based, Ian Edmonston James Steur Sophomore, political "The Collective" ICC - historyeco-nomic- s that will allow quick and easy access to information about all branches and components of the college. My other goal is to ensure 'all documents within the organization are in agreement with one another. Three years ago the ICC helped me establish my club allowing me to serve our college's military Veteran population. To repay that help, I joined the ICC board last year to pay it forward and assist new clubs get on their feet and do great things for students, the college and community. Tbe goals I have for the ICC are: Maintain financial responsi1. bility and ensure clubs are using their budgets to the fullest for events that are exciting, enjoyable and inclusive. Establish an annual ICC ser2. vice project to bring clubs together and help the community. Create a streamlined process 3. for advertising to lessen the load on student leaders so they can focus on mnning their clubs and housing events. Advocate for clubs and organi4. zations on the student board. Create a location where clubs 5. and organizations can post their information, events and service projects. I believe I have the experience needed to effectively serve as president of ICC. |
