U well-matche- d mid-gam- " 'r Westminster welcomed hypnotist Frederick Winters to campus last Wednesday. The entertainer embarrassed willing students by making them perform outrageous antics on stage in the Courage Auditorium. Ashley Hebrew and Tiana Frisbey were asked before the show what they thought would happen. Both responded were going to embarrass ourselves. Both Hebrew and Frisbey ended up on stage. Winters broke the ice with a bit of bathroom humor then immediately called up 19 audience members to be hypnotized. Winters bears a strong resemblance to Dell Schanze (the Totally Awesome Computer owner) and has a similar excited style. While Winters hypnotized the people on stage, a susceptible audience member also became hypnotized. Winters used this to his advantage and made her part of the show. She jumped up shouting, I want a man! every time Winters said Westminster. To start the show Winters had the group imagine they were on the beach which led to a bit of undressing. Qualye Chew removed his shirt and when asked if he was uncomfortable he replied not at all! Later the volunteers rubbed sunscreen on one another, and then licked ice cream dribbles from each others legs. Winters then convinced the group they w ere holding animals ranging from a mild snake to the wild wombat. Junior Zach Gallanis appeared to have a hard time holding up his hefty elephant friend. The entire audience roared with laughter throughout the show. Winters hypnotized Amy Burns to believe she was the new school president, and was to enforce strict nolaughing rules. Gallanis patrolled the audience shouting, No laughing! and I will break yrour neck! d German accent. in a By the end of the show the total number of hypnotized people dropped to 15 because some participants were not as deeply hypnotized as others. Winters closed the show with an MTV dance party where the dancers pulled out their best dance moves in an attempt to win $250,000.
