Show Campus Events The Forum--2 September 11, 2001 Comic Cracks Students Emily Nelson Stafff Writer comedian Owen Smith performed in the Gore Auditorium Saturday to a full house. He has been performing live for five years since his graduation from Notre Dame and has been featured on NBC, ABC, BET and HBO. Smith is also well respected within the comedy industry, as his peers refer to him as A young, hip (Bill) Cosby. He has also recently completed trailors for a new comedy series with Paul Reiser of Mad About You and My Two Dads. Before beginning, Smith scanned the audience and found that he was among the minority of a primarily white audience. He said this reminded him of college days, where the black population consisted of only two percent of the student body. The following are some highlights from the Stand-u- p evening. am impressed with the beautiful women on this campus. This is good because I think society will be able to get over color but not ugly.
