Trying to Boild Womens Soccer Toannru Christopher Wilcox Forum Sports Editor For the past two years, some students at Westminster have been trying to put together a women's soccer team. Their plans are to get enough support that they can make an outdoor team to play in the spring and eventually build it into a collegiate team. So far, the team has only been able to play indoor soccer. They played indoors last winter and are currently playing indoors now. They would like to carry the team over into the spring and play outdoors. Last year there were not enough women that showed the interest and commitment necessary to fill a roster and this year it appears to be the same. If you are interested in playing, there are practices every Sunday from 7 p.m. in the Payne Gymnasium. You 5-- can either speak with the sl coach, Rick Lien, or to Kristen Henderson; both will be at the gym on Sundays. Remember, the team is currently playing indoors right now. They have a game Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 8:20 p.m., at the indoor center located at 4926 South Box Elder St. in Murray. If you are interested or just enjoy watching the game feel free to come and support them. |
