Show campus news For The Students Should Guide Money Decisions Lowering student fees only to raise tuition again means that students still are paying almost as much money; but now more of it goes directly to administrative needs instead of student needs. In a roundabout way, making sure the school pays its bills is a student need. But when student services (services funded by the school for the student populous) has to ask ASWC for monies for important programs, something is wrong. Now ASWC is spending heavily but taking in less revenues, so they are not going to be in any yet how can they justify not helping out the students who support position to be giving hand-outthem financially? One question remains: who is supposed to be paying for these student services and who actually The administration raises tuition by 6.8 percent, but recommends to the student government that student fees be lowered. Student Services (counseling, activities, job placement, and religious services) requests extra monies for new programs such as academic assistance for students with learning disabilities, but gets denied any funding beyond salaries and the usual' programs. Director of Student Life Jackie Haus suggests to the Student Services (of which her office is a part) that if there are programs deemed necesary, which did not receive funding, perhaps the Associated Students of Westminster College (ASWC) would be willing to fork out the bucks.
