house ball i game at park dancing at academy at the meeting of the box elder commercial club on last fri 4 day evening the matter of advertising peach day at the labor day 4 celebration in ogden on september 3rd ard was referred to the adver 4 using committee with instructions to secure the services of the 4 brigham city military band it if found to be practicable upon 4 being approached by said committee the members of 0 the band very 4 willingly offered their assistance to the club Clu liln in promoting the inter 4 ests of brigham city by advertising peach day as above suggested on 4 sept 3rd ard the committee agreed to see thit that the expenses of the 4 band were paid on that day and to secure any other remuneration 4 possible but as the ogden people agreed to teed feed the he boys while down 4 it is probable that the band will be working I 1 with the rest ol of the 4 committee for the good of the cause The entertainment committee 4 for peach day reports alt tn at it has entered entered upon negotiations with 4 some of the best performers in the state for the musicale masl cale at the 4 tabernacle the entertainment to begin at 8 sharp also a 4 high class vaudeville company has been secured to run a contina 4 ous performance in in the opera house from 1 p m to 10 p m the 4 foregoing in connection with the ball game at the ball park and 4 the dancing at the academy both afternoon and evening will surely 4 give our numerous visitors an idea that we know how to enter 4 maln 4 the main point for distribution of peaches this year will be 4 at the city park in the central school square it has been recommended that the peaches on exhibition for 4 prizes be displayed somewhere else or at least be under cover in or 4 fier der that our visitors may be refused refused understand that the purpose of the club is to pro 4 mote the general prosperity and to developed dev elope the varied interests and 4 natural resources reso of brigham city and box elder county to procure 4 preserve and disse disseminate information in relation to commercial in 4 du and financial affairs that may be of general interest and 4 value to secure uniformity in commercial laws and customs to facil 4 irate business intercourse to promote equitable principles and to do 4 any and all things that will bring before the business world the pro 4 ducts of this locality 4 now the purpose of peach day is to especially advertise the 4 peach and it if the effort of the club Is not sustained by the peach growers then the results cannot possibly be attained and as it Is 4 4 of no personal interest to the club as an organization but of vital in 4 terest to the peach grower we believe it very important that the 4 t grow growers should operate in conjunction with the club a and nd in order 4 that the feeling of unity may exist and a better understanding 4 prevail we would respectfully ask that a mass meeting of the fruit 4 growers and citizens be called at such time and
