The third category is the stimulants, such as the amphetamines, or pep pills; and called commonly speed. Amphetamines and other stimulants are prescribed for certain illnesses. The fourth category is the hallucinogens drugs that cause hallucinations and distortion of perception. In this group are LSD and marijuana. Also here we find the forms of glue or solvent or paint thinner that some kids have learned to sniff in order to get a hallucingenic effect. These drugs have no use in medical practice at this time. Dependence on drugs can be or physical, and psychological with some people and some drugs, the dependence can be both . . . psychological and physical. Dependence comes from taking drugs regularly and taking more of them more often. metham-phetamin- e, dependence Psychological comes from taking repeated doses of a drug because you seek the stimulating or depressing effects it has on you. Giving up a psychological dependence is a matter of will. Its not the body that craves the drug its the mind. Giving it up is not a physical problem, although it can be a serious emotional one. Physical dependence, on the other hand, comes from the narcotics and also from continued use of the sedatives. The person begins taking the drug and keeps on taking it for its pleasant effects or for its dulling of his senses so he thinks he has no problem. It starts as a psychological But narcotics do so drastically and sedatives can affect the body that the cells adjust to the effect and the user finds he can no longer live without them. He is then a slave. He no longer takes the drug for any pleasant effect, but to put down the pain he feels without it. When the body is deprived of the drug for any period of time, the user suffers the tortures of the private hell he built for himself, frequently including convulsions and delirium. from a physical Withdrawing on drugs must be dependence done slowly and carefully, under medical supervision. The withdrawal from narcotics is a harrowing experience; abrupt withdrawal from barbiturates can be fatal. Some common drugs on which the user may become psychologically dependent are alcohol, barbiturates, narcotics (heroin, morphine), amphetamines, cocaine, LSD, STP, DMT, marijuana, and organic solvents such as glue and paint thinner. Some of these drugs, especially the sedatives (alcohol, and barbiturates) and the narcotics, may create a physical dependence in the body cells. In some cases the body cells adjust to the prolonged use of marijuana and the individual eyperiences suffering without Washers - Dryers - s, it. All of the drugs we have mentioned have an effect on the senses and cause varying degrees of sensory distortion. The hallucinogenic drugs, such as LSD, cause the sensory cells in the brain to become confused so that the individual sees, hears, smells, feels and tastes that which may not be. It may be compared to a telephone switchboard in which all the lines are jammed together and the signals are all mixed up. This experience is called a trip. Carbon Plumbing ...
