Show Page Four THE SUN:ADVOCATE Thursday, June 27, 1957 La-Ee- English Visitor at Wellington Speaks To Church Groups, Helper Civic Club Miss Susan Osborn of Broham, Bedford, England, International Farm Youth Exchange who is staying at the Lorenzo Petersen farm in Wellington during her Carbon county visit, was the main speaker in the Sunday evening services in both Wellington wards June 23, when Sunday was commemorated in this community. She spoke in the First Ward at 6 at which time she was introduced by Bishop Clement Atwood. Mrs. Petersen, chairman of Sunday, also spoke briefly. Musical numbers included a piano solo, Morning and Evening, played by Miss Colleen Ericson, and a vocal trio number, "The Bridge Builder, sung by Mrs. Della Thayn, Mrs. Mollie Marvell and Mrs. Bonnie Poloni, with piano accompan4-- H pers when they met at the home of their leaders, Wanda and Petersen, June 20. Girls present were Joan Housekeeper, Anita Williams, Karlene Keller, Bonnie Thayn and Ella Dean Powell. Members of the Stitch In Time Saves Nine clothing club met at the home of their leader, Mrs. Marie Ericson, June 13 at which time they studied their instruction books, began work on their record books, and planned their summers activities in clothing II. Officers present were President Dee Ann Dause, Vice President Pat Tryon, Secretary Sandra Kel 4-- H travel to her second host state, which will be South Carolina. She will complete her stay in Washington, D. C., and will return to her home in October, making a stay of six months away from home. The Harmonettes club members made wash cloth house slip 4-- H ler, Reporter and Song Leader Colleen and Jolene Ericson. The Hot Pot Foods club boys made toast and muffins when they met at the home of their leader, Mrs. Melene Norton, June 19. Boys present were Barry Norton, Rodger Branch, Pat Worley, Don Blackburn, Keith Golding and Jerry Ericson. Clifford and Charmaine Marvell, children of Mollie and Andrew Marvell of the Wellington First ward, and Miss JoAnn Wells, daughter, of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wells, and Miss JoAnn Christensen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Christensen, were baptized land confirmed members of the LDS church Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Forman Young of .Idaho are visiting in Wellington, Miss Jean Burnett is at home from her work in Salt Lake City this week. In the Second ward at 7, Miss Osborn also spoke telling of her life and experiences in England, and Bishop Petersen made a few remarks. The ladies trio also sang The Bridge Builder, and Miss Brenda Olson sang the national 4-club girls song, "Dreaming. club members and their All leaders wore badges commemorative of their organization. Thursday evening of last week Miss Osborn spoke before the Lions club in Helper, showing slides of her homeland, and lecturing about conditions and life there. She showed these same slides before the Wellington SecH 4-- H ond ward Mutual Improvement Association Monday evening, at which time many people and interested persons from around Carbon county were present. She has been staying in Carbon county since June 11, and will leave today (Thursday) for Logan where she will attend the older club camp until Saturday. From there she will go to Nephi for three weeks, and thence to Duchesne. Before leaving the West and Utah she hopes to take a side trip to the southern Utah parks, and also to visit briefly in California and Nevada. From Utah she will go to the conference for all IFYE students at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
