SOCIETY and CLUB NOTES adds O PEP CLUB HOLDS BANQUET Right in line with graduation activities was the Pep club banquet held at the college cafeteria on Thursday evening or a week ago. The 'banquet was the final social affair for the Pep club for this year. Themed to Uniorgetable" the song could have been played from the musical staff and notes which ran through the table center in shades of purple. Adding to the picture were centerpieces of lilacs. Unique favors were Pep dolls and small booklets which pictured Pep activities this year. Miss Carol Ann McFall was 'the mistress of ceremonies. Program numbers included, a ballet number, Miss Barbara Waite; piano solo, Marilyn Allred; tap dance, Elva Ree Woodruff; vocal duet, Joan Snow and Shirley Ann Faz-zi- o; closing tribute to the Peppers Miss Lynne Mills; toasts to old members by the new Peppers. REFRIGERATION-SAL- ES Stake Swarm Day Held Tuesday In the spotlight as a prominent event of this week was swarm day held Tuesday In the LDS tabernacle. Approximately one hund-dre- d and twenty five girls representing the seven wards in the stake, attended the social affair which was conducted under the direction of the North Carbon stake MIA. Guests were the members of the stake board including Mrs. Rodney Taylor, president YWMIA, Mrs. Don Burn-hop- e, counselor Mrs. Paul Young, secretary and Mrs. Ardith Crawdirector. Moford, junior-glean- er thers of the girls, guardians and teachers were also guests. Mrs. Pearl Dyet of Helper and Mrs. Eva Hansen, Spring Glen stake board members were in charge of the arrangements. The purpose of holding swarm day is to welcome into the MIA the seagull girls who are graduating from, the Primary association. It is also an important event for the Beehive girls who grad' uate into the Mia Maid depart ment. The swarm day theme was Let us wish upon a star. Hostess duties were assumed by the Price Second ward MIA with Mrs. Wallace Mathis, president, Mrs. Duane Frandsen, Mrs. Ma rion Oveson and Mrs. Mark Hansen In charge. The welcome address was given by Mrs. Dyet. The program consisted of music, skits and readings presented by the girls from the various wards. Mrs. Robert Booth, a member of the stake board from Castle Gate, assisted in presenting honors to the girls for their accomplishments this year. In appreciation for having served as a Beehive feature for five consecutive years. Mrs. Elva Jones received special recognition and was presented with the Beehive pin by Mrs. Amel DeniThe Beehive colors of blue, brown and gold were portrayed in the serving table decorations and in the floral arrangements the hall. Covered throughout with a lace cloth over blue satin, a golden beehive with a celophane golden bee perched atop, attracted attention as the table centerpiece. Encircling the hive were small ceramic figures holding blue and yellow flowers. Blue and gold tapers completed the picture. , The table and hall decorations were in charge of the Price Second ward MIA. Spindlier SHOWER HONORS BRIDE In compliment to Mrs. Blaine Henrie, a recent bride who was the former Miss Wanda Nelson, Mrs. Emma Lamhson entertained at a bridal shower and luncheon at her home on Wednesday night of last week. As a keepsake for the bride, Mrs. Lambson presented her with a miniature three tierred wedding cake topped with a bride and groom, which was an attractive table centerpiece at the party.
