Tuesday water approached the top of the spillway of the Scofield dam, and gates were opened to allow some of the water to escape before the full runoff started to oame over the spillway, but it Is estimated that enough additional water will soon be overflowing to again cause flood conditions In Price river. Meanwhile rock blasted from surrounding cliffs, is being hauled near the break preparatory to clpsing the gap and diverting the whole stream back in the old riverbed. The path of the Price Canal company has also been cleaned and reinforced to take care of irrigation needs of the users. Early this week the sprinkling system of the Carbon Country club golf course was in operation again so as to save the remaining turf. After the river is functioning normally, plans will be studied to reconstruct the course for play. It has been decided already that the course will not be abandoned and ways and means are being worked out to secure funds for rehabilitation purposes. Thursday morning, the Utah state road commission began sandbagging the highway through Helper and along toe road from toe federal highway to Scofield dam. This, however, is a precautionary measure against expected high water. The river has not yet risen to a dangerous extent. sa What Does Willy Loaiaa Sell, Is Top Question Community Church Annual Meet Set Tuesday Evening William . McFadden.
