Young had valuable new experience at Salt Lake Friday, when he flew a plane by radio control. The flight was made at the Salt Lake municipal airport No. 1 and was part of a program put on by the Civil Aeronautics administration for the purpose of stimulating aviation education in high schools. The airport tour, lectures and demonstrations were attended by 80 high school principals and aeronautics instructors. The one-da- y aviation institute was the last of a series held at leading airports throughout the nation. The visiting educators were given half-hoflights in planes and were taken on an inspection tour of link trainers, an air liner and an army plane. A Boeing aircraft film, Flying Fortress, was shown during the evening session. The tour also included visits to gr The following article and poem on the importance of coal to winning the war are the final essays to be awarded prizes in the Kiwanis essay contest. Twelve winners have now been named and grand prizes will be given to the best of these. Judges of the contest are C. H. Madsen, Blaine Morse and F. V. Hicks.
