The Cub Scouts of Pack 648 will hold their pack meeting on Wednesday, December 28, downstairs in the Church in the children's meeting room. The theme for this month is "Holiday Magic." Our first snow storm of the season didn't last long, but I'm sure there will be many others to take its place. Santa has been spotted at several places around the valley, stopping in to hear children's Christmas wishes. Many people have gone all out to decorate their homes with ornaments and lights this year, making our little town a beautiful place to see after dark. Santaissure to find Aurora on Christmas Eve! All of the decorated homes will make this year's task of choosing a winner in the lighting contest much more difficult for Aurora's Youth Council. Winners will be selected and awards handed out on Saturday, December 18. Good Luck council members! From what I've seen, I don't envy you. Saturday is also the day when Santa will be at the Aurora Fire Station. The Youth Council has invited die Jolly ol' Elf to be here to visit with area kids from 2 to 4 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to come out and visit with Santa. Don't forget to support the Youth Council in their drawing for an animated Santa Claus. Tickets are by donation of $1 per ticket, or 6 tickets for $5. Thursday Darrel and Maxine Bolinder spent the day in Salt Lake they visited with their son Ron and wife Cindy in Erda and with their son Jerry and wife Jan in Grantsvihe. That evening Jerry and Jan took they out to dinnerand see the lights. Then for a nice birthday surprise for Maxine all of them went to the Delta Center and enjoyed the Neil Diamond concert. Toward the end of the concert he sang many of the Christmas songs as a Christmas special. Friday Mr. and Mrs. Richard Harrop attended the wedding of Wendy Dickerson of West Valley in the Salt Lake Temple. Wendy is Richards niccce Vivian Tree and daughter Kelly of Mapleton visited Saturday with Milton and Ruby Hammond. The Redmond Ward Primary held its activity day Wednesday. Hiey went Christmas Caroling to some of the elderly in town and took them a Christmas card and a loaf of banana bread. They then returned to the church for hot chocolate and sugar cookies. They are now practicing for the Christmas Eve Program that will be held December 24, 6:30 p.m. at the church. Everyone is invited to attend. The Salina City Youth Council held its Christmas Tree Lane Friday and Saturday. Members from Redmond helped put on some of the musical entertainment throughout both days. Tammy and Justin Okerlund were here this weekend visiting Don and Iris Hales and Tammy sang at the Christmas Tree Lane. Gordon and Tammy Johnson, Jennifer and Roger Scott and children traveled to Loa to attend the Lester and DcOna Olyler family Christmas party. The group consisted of all six of the Oyler Children and their families. They went Christmas caroling and also opened gifts after having a wonderful dinner.
