Show 2 The Salina Sun. Wednesday. Decemher 1 5. 1 991 What a disappointment! Teacher of the Month at North Sevier High Myron Mickelsen is an associ- ate and principal intern at North Sevier High School and has been chosen teacher of the month for December by the PTS A. He graduated from North Sevier High School and Southern Utah University, and is presently working on a masters degree at Brigham Young University. He has enjoyed teaching for ten years. He likes the high school students and enjoys working within both the classroom and in sports. He teaches in the science department and assists in coaching football and basketball. Myron has also been associated with the restructuring of North Sevier High School and has worked with the academic decathlon Myron Mickelsen teams. He and his wife, Joy, are the parents of Lance, Christy, Chad and Mamie. His parents are Que and Mathel Mickelsen, of Redmond, and his grandmother is Christy Mickelsen, also of Redmond. His hobby is spending time working on his farm and associating with people. He enjoys church service, chocolate cake and brown Dear Editor: I recently returned to my home town for the Thanksgiving Holiday. During my annual trip I always attended the basketball game that is held during this time. I am a graduate of North SevierHigh anda former basketball player, and I enjoy returning to my Alma Mater and watching the game and seeing former classmates and their families. However, upon my visit this year, I was truly disappointed. In my opinion the basketball team had more talent than the coaches used. I also heard many fans talking about how unfair the coaching at NSHS has been and that it was time for a whole new coaching staff, I have to say that I agree. You can imagine how shocked I was at the half time show when the Ry themetts came out not in the school colors of Blue and Crimson, but Silver and Black and then the Cheerleaders lead the crowd in the school song -- - and the music to the SONG WAS DIFFERENT! And the sad part was no one knew ho w to sing the new version of the song -- - not even the students. I believe that changes can be for the better, but in this case I think you have made a mistake. Come on North Sevier! ! ! What has happened to your school spirit and what is the matter with tradition? And Coach Glad well, play your team members for the talent that they each have, not because of who their parents are. Make some more changes North Sevier, and make your students and fans proud of North Sevier High School.
