Mark was one of about 30 students receiving his degree incivil engineering. He will make his home in St George where he is employed with an engineering consulting firm. Visiting With A1 and Afton Peterson were Lela Anderson Nelson, Murray; LaBerda and Mud Allen, Mr. and Mrs. Chet K. Allen and Jackie, and Dixie Jensen, all of Farmington, Utah; Tony and Vicki Gubler, Cedar City; and Doug and Med Black of Sandy. All were here to attend the funeral of Afton, Lela and LaBerdas brother, Vermile Draper, of Centerfield. Congratulations to Bishop Sid and Gwen Curtis who recently became the proud grandparents of a baby girl bom to Mike and Melanie Hill, of American Fork. The little miss was named Misty Lynn, and has a sister, Merissia, and a brother, McCade. They, and Richfield and Amber Curtis and family, attended her blessing on Fast Sunday. Clark and Connie Brunson and family attended the wedding and reception of Brian and Sharmi Crowther. The couple was married in the Manti LDS Temple and the receptions were held in Richfield andMarysvale. Sharmi is the daughter of Keith and Mickey Barben, of Marysvale. Mathew Knight is visiting the Brunson family. Clark Brunson visited with his mother, Nina Branson, in Fillmore. It will be at the Salina Stake Center at 6:30 p.m. The younger singles will get together the same evening at 6 p.m. for a game in the empty lot by Ferald mud-volley-b- Masons. Also on the 18th there will be a line dance at the church at 8 p.m. for those ages 14 18. A regional Youth Dance will be held Saturday, June 19 from 9 to 11 p.m. at the Youth Center, Richfield. Friday they attended the University of Utah's graduate school of Social Work Convocation held at the Pioneer Memorial Theatre whee their grauddaughter, Laurie Kay Elggren received her masters degree in Social Work. She was an honor graduated receiving nomination to the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. She also represented the Associated Students of the University in the graduate school. She was an honors graduate from Hillcrest High and graduated from Brigham Young University Magna Cum Laude. She studied for a semester abroad and had the opportunity to visit Israel and most of the countries of Europe. After graduation she worked in a Congressional office in Washington, DC for a year, then fulfilled an LDS Mission to New Jersey. Upon her return she spent a year at the Lowell Bennion Center at the U of U doing volunteer community service, then worked for Congressman Bill Orton as a case worker. It was during these experiences that she recognized the needs of the poor, elderly homeles, and especially abused and neglected children and felt the need to become a social worker. She is the wife of Matthew Elggren, an executive banker with Zions Bank, Salt Lake City. Kim Hampton, daughter of Keith and Patsy Hampton, was awarded her medallion of Promise by Bishop Myron Mickelsen Sun- Kay and Jenett Hales were in Logan recently to attend the graduation of their daughter-in-laPatty Hales. Patty graduated Cum Laude. Kyle and Kim Bosshardt were sustained as Primary workers. Sharon Hales was presented and sustained as the Young Womens softball coach. Michael Willardson and his boys have been here spending some time with his parents, Paul and Loretta Willardson. Tammy and Justin Okerlund were here over the weekend. Tammy was part of the entertainment for the opening ceremonies for the Regional Utah Summer Games. They also had with them Debbie and Russell Newman s two sons. Relief Society held its homemaking day Tuesday. The Primary held its activity day Monday afternoon. The leaders and children traveled to Manti to the Temple where they :.ad a tour of the outside and were told some interesting things about the building and the Temple grounds. This past week has been Cub Scout Day Camp held in Richfield. Spending some timeboth travto eling and from California has been Jean Johnsons grandson, Andy Moranios, and two friends. Redmond Ward had 42 youth and 10 leaders attend Youth Conference held at BYU this past week. They had a good time and learned a lot. The Roller Rink will be starting up again at the Old Church. Watch for more information regarding times and other activities. On Monday, June 28, a musical group will be performing in Redmond. They will be at the Cultural Hall and everyone is invited to attend this family home evening special. It is free of charge and will begin at 7 p.m. I had a great time in Florida. Saw a lot of fun things and had an Adventure in the OHare airport. Its good to be back home again. day. Wade Tanner was advanced to the office of a priest Sunday. Bill and Marge Poulsen have had two of their grandchildren spend some time with them recently. Their grandson Rustin Larson and their granddaughter April Poulsen spent the past two weeks here. Kay and Jenett Hales have had the fun of having three of their spend some time with them. The children of Karl and Lisa Hales have been here while their parents have been in Florida. grad-childr- en Ten young men of ages 14 and older attended Youth Conference Thursday through Saturday in Provo at BYU. Their leaders David Bown, Shawn Crane and one parent Bart Brown were with the boys. They attended their meetings and enjoyed them and had a good time meeting other people. Those attending were Greg Lyman, Charlie Memorial weekend, Stan and Judy Jeffery picked up their 5th wheel trailer in Salina and went fishing at Otter Creek. They came back with nice fish for Warren and Maurine Ottley. The next weekend, Weston, Kayleen and Nicole Jeffery from Denver spent a couple of days at the Ottleys and attended a wedding of a niece in Ml Pleasant Grandchildren Lee and Dana Jeffery Bailey, students at USU in Logan, also spent the weekend here. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Hammond attended the baptize of their grandchildren Cory and Teri Tree June 5, 1993 at Mapleton. Their parents are Marion and Vivian. Their father baptized them and family members and friends gathered at the Tree home after the baptize and enjoyed ice cream cookies and punch. Ryan Lyman, Bartholomew, Rustin Pickett and Rustin Taylor. Visiting this week with Mr. and Mrs. Roland Christensen are their daughter Danni and husband Trent Taylor of Georgia. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Harrop visited last week in Las Vegas with their daughter Annette and husband Robert Newman and children. Visiting Sunday afternoon with the Harrops were their daughter Kandy and husband David Meade and son Spencer of Provo. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Alan family get together and enjoyed a barbecue dinner before the wedding. Now visiting with Darrel and Maxine are the grandsons Steven and Calib Bolinder. He was bom August 13,1910 in Ephraim, Utah, a son of Frank and Josephine Johanson Nielson. He married Ada Freece December 23, 1936 in the Manti Temple. He was a member of the LDS Church and served a mission to Sweden. He was a prominent Salina businessman. He is survived by his wife, Ada, and two sons and two daughters: Dan and Maxine, of Salt Lake; Richard and Pat, of Cedar City; Pat and Brent Smart, Salina; Sally and Donald Blohm, South Jordan. Also 20 Grandchildren and 13 A sister, Mrs. Steve (Fern) Thomas, Apache Junction, AZ; Brother, Dale Nielson, Salt Lake. Preceded in death by a Grandson. The grave was dedicated by Steven Kiesel.
