Don Oscarson, of Fox Point, Wisconsin. The gun collector told Oscarson he had acquired it in a trade with another man. Also inscribed on the horn is Warsaw Regulators. Which, according to Oscarson, identifies it as belonging to a mobber. In the 1840s regulators referred to men in a vigilante group while men in the official militia were called regulars. Graduates replacing older refrigerators with newer, more efficient models. If your current refrigerator is more than 1 5 years old, energy savings by upgrading to a more energy efficient model may pay the cost of the new refrigerator in just a few years. Following are some tips to help you boost the efficiency of your existing refrigerator. In so doing, the money you can save can go toward the purchase of a new refrigerator later. 1. Clean the condenser coils located on either the back of the frig or behind the front grill. When the coils become caked with dust and dirt, they are less efficient in transferring heat to the room. You can use either a brush or vacuum. If extremely greasy, you may want to use amilddetergentwith water. Always unplug the power supply as a safety precaution. 2. Check the door seal. Insert a five dollar bill into the door at various locations. If it holds tight, you re OK. If it falls to the ground, then youre likely loosing at least that five dollar bills worth of electricity each month. If your frig has a magnetic seal. Put a lighted flashlight inside - close the door. Dowse the lights. If you can see light coming through the seal area, your gasket should be adjusted or replaced. 3. Check the temperature. USU n Extension Specialist Georgia says the refrigerator compartment temperature should be between 36 and 39 degrees, and the freezer compartment from 0 to 3 degrees. 4. Check the power saver switch. Some refrigerators have such a switch to help eliminate condensation. Unless you have a big problem with condensation, keep the switch in the power saving position. 5. Defrost on a regular basis. The build up of ice on the coils inside the unit means the compressor has to run longer to maintain cold temperatures. 6. Move the frig to a cooler location if necessary, and be sure its out of direct sunlight.
