Their activities included a Rock At Research tour and a Hands On Archaeological Dig, where ancient Anasazi Indians lived. Mesquite, Nevada was also on their agenda. Congratulations to John Hatch, ion of Newell and Mary Ann Hatch, who was presented at Stake Conference to be ordained an Elder. It sounds nice to go somewhere out of the cold! Vince and Lauri Johnson attended a Young Fanners and Ranchers Leadership Conference over the weekend, representing the Farm Bureau in Salt Lake City. They stayed at the University Park Hotel. Mr. Congratulations to Ferald Mason, who was named Counselor to the new Stake President, Phil Barney; and Ray Heagle, who was named new Stake Clerk. Sherrie Taylor, Bonnie Peterson and Ro-en- e Shaw were winners. Desserts were served to all attending. Sue SL Pierre was hostess to her dinner club Thursday evening. After the meal the ladies played Progressive Rummy with prizes being awarded to Marci Anderson, Lisa Learning and Sandra Nielsen. The North Sevier Girls Basketball team played their last home game Thursday evening. As is the custom, the Senior girls were honored and the parents of the Senior Girls along with their coaches, cheerleaders and Drill team were also honored. The two Senior Girls this year are Jennifer Johnson and Linda Bowers. The Team then played Hurricane, and after a tough battle, lost. Region action will be Thursday through Saturday at North Sevier High. Everyone is encouraged to support the team and see some fine basketball action. DeOna Oyler and Cami Brown, Loa, were here Thursday to watch Jennifer and Trisha Johnson play ball. Stake Conference was held this weekend. A new Stake Presidency was sustained. Being released were Amo Bastian, president; Robert White and Ronnie Bosshardt, as Sustained was Phil counselors. Pahvant Camp DUP meets DUP report The January 26 meeting of the Salina Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Pahvant Camp, was held at the home of Verna Andreason. A tape was enjoyed on the life of the mother of Joseph Smith. Jane Nielsen, of Aurora, gave the lesson. There was a good turnout The next meeting will be held the last Thursday in February at 2 p.m. Ferron Reservoir will be drainedrepaired Ferron Reservoir is an earthfill dam near the headwaters of Indian Creek, in Sanpete County. It is owned and under Special Use Permit to the Division of Wildlife Resources. The dam and control structures have had deficiencies over the years, and have been modified a number of times. The present structure does not meet current State of Utah and Forest Service dam safety regulations and guidelines. The Division of Wildlife Resources has proposed to carry out the following actions: remove and replace riprap as needed construct a cutoff trench and install a membrane to prevent water from filtering through the dam . remove drop inlet install a concrete spillway and pipe This reservoir is an important fishery for the angler and has a campground and resort within a short walking distance from the shoreline. In order to complete the needed work it will be necessary to drain the water from Ferron Reservoir. The project is scheduled for completion in the Fall of 1991 sos that the reservoir can refill for 1992.
