Crandaon of Mr, and Mrs. J.B. Brent Anderson. 10 year old Richard Jorgensen, Agt-n- Cuupers-jj- Extension Service, in coopers-Lowith the Utrek Japanese luident exchange program will be ringing six Japanese students in to 'vier County this summer. The students will arrive August ad, and will be staying three veka. Mary Ashby, 19H8 State Leadermete Chairperson, of Glenwood, planned and conducted the meeting. She currently serves on the Sevier County Advisory Council and is the 4 II Teen Council Advisor. During the conference, workshops were conducted covering such topics as time management, public speaking, expressive arts, photography, stress management, community service, and more. Norma Reynolds, Entomology leader for ten years, and her daughter, Sheri, of Salina, conducted an Entomology Workshop enti 4-- tled 'Everyone's Going to the Bugs. They taught 4 H leaders how to pin an lable insects, spread butterflies and moths, and more. Norma is currently on the Sevier County Advisory Council, while her daughter Sheri, is a member of the county 4 H Teen Council. Two teens from Sevier County were appointed to the State Japanese Exchange Student Teen Council, namely Sheila Rasmussen, Salina, and Evelyn Bayles, Central. These young ladies will help Japanese students adjust to the cultural differences and overcome jet-lawhen they come to visit Utah this summer. Force Hometown News Army Reserve Pvt. Shawn E. son of Irvin G. Sego of West Valley City and Mary E. Pettit of Aurora, has completed basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. During the training, students received instruction in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tatics, military courtesy, military justice, first aid, and Army history and traditions. He is a 1985 graduate of Granger High School, West Valley City. These scouts were among the many who participated in the annual Pmewood Derby at the Salma 2nd Ward last week. Colvina McClean, Senior of Bonneville International, will be the speaker at Friday Forum on May 9 at 12:00 noon, at the Ephraim LDS Institute of Religion. The purpose of CRP is to take highly erodible land out of farming for 10 years and place it into trees or other permanent vegetative cop ver. ver.
