Keep Active Keep Alive Here are some suggestions for those who would like to help: Donate handcrafted floral center- "Keep active, Keep Alive," will be discussed at the Tuesday evening, October 8, meeting of the Sevier Valley AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) , set for 7:30 p.m. in the Sevier County Courthouse in Richfield. Robert Jepson and Jeff Thalman will be guest speakers, discussing how older persons need to keep active and what they should, and can do, to keep fit and functioning. The speakers are well known therapists in Sevier County, and own and operate Central Utah Phvsio Therapy Services. AARP membership is open to "anyone 50 years of age, or older. It is with a a national organization membership of 20 million. Marlene Crane, program chairman, introduced the program and welcomed all the members and invited guests. The program was a lecture and slides presented by Brenda Crane, daughter of Marlene and Bill Crane. Ray Gless, F.F.A. Advisor, explained the F.F.A. program and the part it played in helpig Brenda realize their world tour. Mr. Gless gave a brief history of Brendas accomplishments and her activity in the F.F.A. program. Brenda showed the slides and related her most interesting experiences of her trip around the world. She told of the many families she met and lived with and learned their customs and ways of life in farming and agriculture. Each country she visited was very unique. Aspecialpartof the program was a painting presented to Mrs Fern Peterson by F.F.A. advisor, Mr. Gless, in recognition of the many years Mrs. Petersons husband, (E. Smith Peterson) taught the F.F.A. program at North Sevier. The picture was painted by Gary Ericcson of Idaho. The meeting was dismissed and light refreshments were served by the hostess.
