Mr. and Mrs. Kendell Quamberg and boys enjoyed camping with Paulas parents. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Whicker of Fillmore and her brother and family of Payson. The Quarnbergs also spent the 4th of July in Fillmore. Mrs. Shauna Nielsen and children spent the weekend in Fishlake with her husband Dennis, who has employment there. Kristee Lee Wheeler of Farming-ton- , New Mexico gave her sister, Kathleen Lloyd a day early birthday gift on the 4th of July by coming for a surprise visit. Another brother of Kathleens and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Wheeler and daughter, Jackie of Round Rock, Arizona brought Kristee up on their way to a family reunion in Fishlake. Kristee will be staying with the Lloyds for a few weeks. The event was sponsored by Mrs. Reita Hamblin and family and was well attended by the families. Camping, crafts and visiting, programs, square dancing were some of the reunion highlights. Mr. and Mr. Rodney Nielwn re the proud parent of a new baby boy bom June 50th in the Gunnison Hospital. The new little baby tipped the scales at 6 lbs. 8 ozs. He w ill be named Christopher Todd. Greeting him at home were hi sutler, Anya and hi brother, Preston. Two families have moved out of Aurora and will be missed. Mr. and Mr. Jaymes Helmsteller and family moved on Saturday, July 6th to their new home in Roosevelt, and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Perry and family moved on Monday, July 8lh to their new home in Sunset. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Thompson over the 4th of July holidays were: Mr. and Mr. Terry Thompson and boys of Kanab, Mr. and Mr. Charles Thompson and boys, Payson, and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Thompson of West Valley City. Mr. and Mrs. Thompson's granddaughter, Teresa, and her fiancee, Michael Thorup of Salt Lake City visited them over the weekend. Dan Thompson also enjoyed going to his 50th class reunion held in Salina on Friday. Enjoying the July 4th fun run which was a 6.2 mile run in Salina from Aurora were: Sheriff Billy Weaver, Delbert Lloyd and his son, Trent Lloyd. Also running in the race was Mr. and Mrs. Dan Thompson's son, Charles Thompson of Payson. Trent Lloyd took a first place in his age division, and Charles Thompson took a second place in his division. Auroras 4th of July celebration started out with the usual early morning booms which wake everybody up, but have become a tradition. Then a flag raising ceremony was held at the park and in the afternoon at the park was a dinner and booths, rides and races for all the families to enjoy. There was a big crowd to enjoy all of the festivities. A kitchen bridal shower was given" at the home of Elaine Gurrs on Friday, July 5th for Elaines niece, Rachelie Rasmussen of Redmond. 17 guests were in attendance to enjoy games and refreshments. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Thornton and family recently returned from a weeks vacation in Idaho, where they spent time at the Lava Hot Springs. They also visited Logan and Salt Lake City, where they took their children to the Hogle Zoo. Throughout the trip, they enjoyed visiting family members. Two children in the Aurora First Ward had a special weekend when they were baptized and confirmed members of the church. Melissa Black, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Black, was baptized Saturday, July 6th and confirmed a member of the church Sunday, July 7th by her father, Charles Black.
