The organization was a civic service group for young women in the community who were interested in civic and social functions According to Mrs. Mason, this was an organization of young women who learned civic consciousness through constructive ac tion. which fulfilled the obligation every citizen has to the community in which they live, to make it a more plrosant place to live, through public sen ice The group met and became friends withy oung w omen w ho w ere alert, enthusiastic, ambitious and represented all facets of the community. At the same time, they improved themselves and found many other benefits through semce and social activities. Some of the activities sponsored by the organizations during past years included the Miss North Sevier Pageant, Fashion Show. Fourth of July programs, float, concessions, bake sales; they helped get drinking fountains on Main Street; awarded a travel trophy; assisted at the WellBaby Clinic; and purchased curtains for the Elementary School Auditorium. Evelyn Wilson, Lola Peterson, enna Johnson and Beverly Dixon Other worthwhile projects thro- ugh the years consisted of Summer parties, a camp quilt and bake sale in October; The anniversary Party in November, Santa letters and Christmas program in December; Elections, March; Miss North Sevier Pageant in April, Installation and Distinguished Service Award Banquet in May We also had Sunshine and Spark Flug committees which took out baby gifts, and visited any Jayce-ettin the Hospital, and who also recruited new members for the group e The Jayceettes is changing its name, and will now be known as the North Sevier Women's Organization We really want to thank those who helped us and gave us their support through the years, said Peggy Volunteering is a thankless job, and it seems that now days people care from the seat, rather than the feet " We will continue with the Miss North Sevier Contest, and have it set up for April Bob Welti will be Master of Ceremonies of the event to be held in the Auditorium of We hope NSHS, Peggy explained to make it as successful this year as it has been in other years We also will be continuing our Santa Claus Project, and the Majestic Studios project " We invite women who are interested in public service, and in joining our new group, to contact Sharon Sudweeks, our present president, for more information, Peggy stated JUBILEE: Saturday afternoons Golden Jubilee was a great success. Many Senior Citizens from all over the state attended the I unoheon, afternoon GOLDEN programs, Dinner and Dance. Prizes were awarded, old friendships renewed, and all who attended were well pleased.
