Thelma Okerlund. DeNeece Simpson and thildren, Kevin and Lori, and Virgie Nielsen enjoyed Saturday, March 8th, in Orem, visiting with Harry, LaDawn Wind and family. Jerrie Hatch, of Granger, joined the family members, enjoyed dinner together, and spent the day visiting. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Jorgensen and Mr. and Mr$. Elton Taylor traveled to Provd Saturday and met with other members of their family to attefid a birthday dinner celcbtion, honoring their father,, Sidney Peterson, of Redmond. ! Mr. and Mrs. Robert Maxwell and children, Rod, Ryan, and Marnie, of Salt Lake City, visited over the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Maxwell and Mr. and Mrs. Keith Sorensen, of Aurora. They also attended the Aurora Centennial School Lunch o' MONDAY, March the Irish stew. On Wednesday, Mrs. Florence Squires entertained her club members. She served a lovely turkey dinner. 500 was the game of the evening, with prizes being won by Verda Beach, Evelyn Erickson and Ellis Rae Jensen. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Crane, Mr. and Mrs. Shyrel Baker, Mrs. Heaps Baker, and Mrs. David Seely attended the Marty Robins Show at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake Citv last week. Mrs. Larry Crane attended the funeral of her uncle, Virgil Jacobson, in Fountain Green Saturday. Miss Linda Jensen and Miss Chris Dean, of Kayenta, Arizona, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Jensen, Michael and Denise over the weekend. They also visited Mrs. Donna Crane and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hicks and family, of Kearns, who were also visiting over the weekend with Mrs. Crane. Mrs. Crane has had many visitors during her illness the past month, and she says she enjoys everyone who comes in to see her. Miss Jensen and Miss Dean motored home Sunday, stopping at Moab to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Holyoak and three daughters. It was Katherines birthday Sunday. Mrs. Faye Hatch went to Moab to be with Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Holyoak when their new daughter arrived. The Holyoaks now have three daughters. Faye stayed for one week, helping out with the family and getting acquainted with the new grand- daughter. Mrs. Juventa Mickelsen has been in Koosharem the past week, staying with Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Hatch and son. Mr. and Mrs. Don Holt and family presented a special program for the Second Ward Sacrament Sunday, Meeting honoring their son. Elder Douglas Holt, who is leaving this week to serve the Kentucky-Tennesse- e Mission. Don and Norma hosted a buffet luncheon for their family and friends at their home Sunday afternoon. Marty Glen Lewis This handsome little guy is Marty Glen Lewis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Lewis, of Aurora. He will celebrate his first birthday March 16th. are Mr. and Grandparents Mrs. Keith L. Sorensen, Aurora. and Mr. and Mrs. Dell Lewis, of Redmond. are Mrs. Inez Lewis, Redmond; Levi Sorensen, Aurora; and Mrs. Lila Whitbeck, Sterling. Happy birthday, Marty!! Funeral services were held Saturday, February 22nd, in Portland, Oregon for Clynn J. Wilkinson, who is the husband of Mella Peterson, eldest daughter of Conrad E. Peterson. He was born in Anabella and educated in the Gunnison were schools. The services conducted by Bishop Vernal Goodsell. Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Anderson and family went to Midvale Saturday and Sunday of last week. Nathan baptized and confirmed Jane Deakin, daughter of John and Judy Deakin, brother of Mrs. Anderson. They also visited with other family members and stayed at Nathans mother, Mrs. Rhoda Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Brent Jensen and son, Salt Lake, were here during the week with his parents. Bishop and Mrs. Douglas Jensen. They are moving here, and Brent will work in the Sprinkling System Department of Intermountain Farmers in Salina. He has been office manager in Salt Lake and has been transferred. We will be happy to have them live here. Holyoak Baby Hoopes Baby Mr. and Mrs. Michael Hoopes, of Aurora, are the proud parents of a baby girl, born to them on March 3rd in the Sevier Valley Hospital. The little Miss weighed 6 lbs. 1 oz. and will be named Joyanna. The Hoopes 1 have three other children; Shanille, 3 years, and twins, Jenni Lyn and J.J., 18 months. The babys grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Jensen, of Brigham City, and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Hoopes, of Willard. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Holyoak, of Moab, are getting used to pink booties. They became parents of their third daughter on February 19th. She was in the Moab Hospital and joins sisters, Monica and Valerie. The new little Miss received her name and blessing on her mothers birthday, which made it an extra special day. She was named Deborah Jo. are Mr. and Grandparents Mrs. Ellis Hatch, Salina, and Mr. and Mrs. Ray C. Holyoak, Moab. Mason Baby Mr. and Mrs. Allen Mason, of Salina, are the proud parents of a sweet baby daughter born March 1st. She weighed 8 lbs. 3 oz. and was 20V) inches long. She will be named Rebecca Ann. An older sister, Rachel, 15 months, helped welcome the new addition home. Proud grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. David Deaton, Richfield, and Mr. and Mrs. Hilmar Mason, Aurora. Great grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Loren Kump, Axtell; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Murphy, Richfield; Sylvia Mason, Aurora; and Sheldon Anderson, Salt Lake City. 0 An early morning fire on an old corral on the property of Neal and Marcia Bosshardt stirred some excitement Sunday. The Salina Fire Department came quickly and put out the blaze. The cause was unknown but if the Fire Department hadn't been alert, the fire could have spread quickly to nearby homes. Mr. and Mrs. Steven Jensen, Granger, visited over the weekend with his mother, Mrs. Vontess Jensen and with her parents in Richfield. Mrs. Edris Mickelsen and Manon were in Provo over the weekend to visit Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Giles. Mrs. Nora Hansen went to Delta Monday, March 3rd, and attended the funeral of a cousin, Clark Bishop. Mrs. Olive Watts, Murray, came Sunday and stayed overnight with her. Mr. and Mrs. Byron Jensen received word of a grandson born Saturday, March 8th. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Dickerson had an 11 lb. boy. Mrs. Dickerson is the former Lorna Jensen. They have three children, two boys and one girl. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Jensen and family, Heber City, came for the weekend to visit Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Poulson and Mr. and Mrs. Byron Jensen. Dennis assisted his father on the farm. Byron came out of the hospital and is recuperating. Mr. and Mrs. Preston Pickett and family, Salt Lake, visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Max Peterson and Mr. and Mrs. Bronzel Pickett. Mr. and Mrs. Owen Christensen and Burton Christensen went to Salt Lake Sunday and visited their sister, Nathela Sorenson, who had surgery Thursday. She is in the L.D.S. Hospital. They visited Doug Black at the St. Marks Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Philo Rasmussen went to Manti Sunday of last week and attended a fireside at the Manti Center Ward. Ora Pate Stewart, of Provo, a noted author and composer, put on the program with her songs and writings. Mrs. Rasmussen had an interview with her afterwards. Mrs. Kent (Gayle) Johnson headed the Heart Fund Drive this week. Assisting her were Jan and Jill Bosshardt, Marci Lund, Sue Ann Jensen, Carma Sorenson, Linda Sorenson, and Christine Hales. The Ward had a Fund Raising Banquet Thursday evening. Everyone helped furnish and each organization helped. Following dinner, Neal Bosshardt showed films on scenes here in Redmond and of the Explorers on some of their trips. Sue Haskins and Brenda Larsen, of Salina, entertained with their guitars. The money will be used for more improvements on the Church. Mrs. Vera Peterson was in Clearfield weekend before last and visited her children, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Peterson and got acquainted with her new Lacey Ann, baby of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Kruswell. Morving Larsen was in the Gunnison Hospital. He came home Monday after being there a week. We hope the best for him. Karen Hales played a piano solo. Philo and Velma Rasmussen were released from the Manti Temple, where they labored nearly four years. Eddie Jensen, his cousin from Sandy, came with him down. Mr. and Mrs. Max Peterson and son went to Salt Lake Wednesday to keep a medical appointment for Mrs. Peterson. They visited their children, Mr. and Mrs. Preston Pickett and family, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Olsen. The Legion Auxiliary has been reorganized.
