Knapp returned Monday from a trip to Southern California. They visited Mrs. Knapp's mother in Alhambra for a week. They also attended the 45th annual meeting of the California State. Fraternal Congress, of which Mrs. Knapp is a past president. Mrs. Knapp was the recipient of the Fraternalist Award for her activities over the last 25 years with the Congress. Roger Mason, who is attending the University of Utah, spent the weekend visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Mason. Genevieve Crowther traveled to Bicknell on Sunday, where she spoke in Sacrament Meeting there. Steve Robison, from Orem, is spending several days with Mr. and Mrs. LaMar McBride while here on business. Steves fiancee. Sally McBride, came down from Provo to visit with the McBrides and Steve over the weekend. Sally is LaMar's sister. Phyllis Sorensen has returned home from Provo, where she was hospitalized last week. After being released from the hospital, she spent a few davs resting at the home of her Mr. daughter and and Mrs. Robert Maxwell, in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Verge Kennedy went to Salt Lake Saturday, where Verge had several medical appointments. He has been hospitalized in the L.D.S. Hospital. Our best wishes for a speedy reeoveiy. Vovle Sorensen, Ely, Nevada, visited with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alma Sorensen, during the weekend. Weekend guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hales were Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Horan and family, from Highland. They came to hunt and be here for Bob's birthday on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Johnson came down for the weekend from Salt Lake to visit with Mrs. W.R. Johnson and other familv members. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stevens and family traveled to Covina, California last week to attend the wedding of Mr. Stevens' niece. Mr. Greenwood made the motion that the minutes of the previous regular meeting held October 10. 1974, be approved as written. Mr. Madsen seconded the motion, and the motion passed unanimously. Supt. Teeples reviewed some of Ihe vouchers in detail, after which vouchers numbered were approved by the Board on Mr. Madsen's motion, seconded by Mr. Nielson. The motin passed unanimously. Elwood Willis. Principal of Pahvant Elementary School, met with the Board and shared a of philosophy of statement education at that school. Other pertinent information concerning the education program of the Pahvant Elementary School was shared by Mr. Willis. After Mr. Willis' presentation, the Board visited classrooms to see teachers and students in action. Mr. Willis w as thanked for his presentation and he and Mr. Bell were excused. Plans were discussed and Finalized for the Utah School Boards Association Annual Convention which will be held December 4th and 5th in Salt Lake City. There was a discussion quesconcerning a tion at the Richfield High School sheep farm. The Board was reminded of a dinner meeting of the Region 10 area at the Rodeway Inn at 7:00 P.M.. October 29th, for the purpose of discussing legislation. It was also mentioned that MGM, general contractors for the new South Sevier High School, will be holding a meeting with subcontractors Friday. October 25. at 12:05 at the Rodeway Inn. Sevier County Commissioner candidate Hal Massey is planning his own series of "prop stops" throughout the County belore election day. Hal is a licensed pilot, too, but he had to sell his plane earlier in the year to help finance his campaign and his family.
