Selection of the Salt Wash site, approximately 10 miles north of the town of Caineville, was made following an extenl, sive analysis performed at several preliminary study areas by Westinghouse Environmental System Department, other consultants, and IPP engineers. Among the factors considered in selecting the Salt Wash area were availability of water and fuel, environmental impact.
