Jaquetta Tutor, Mr. and Mrs. Allen and Ellis Quarnberg, Quarnberg traveled to Salt Lake City Sunday, to visit their father, Floyd Quarnberg, who is hospitalized there. Tuesday, Leslie Johnson celebrated her birthday, and helping her in the celebration were 20 of her friends and her grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Alma Duke, Heber City. Keith Sorensen was taken from the Sevier Valley Hospital Monday to the L.D.S. Hospital in Salt Lake City. Best w ishes go out to Keith. Relief Aurora Ward The Society held their annual Birthin the day Party Tuesday Recreation Hall. A program was presented and a luncheon was served. Gary Peterson, Denver, Colorado, spent the weekend visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Peterson. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Smith and children, Salt Lake, spent the weekend visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Jensen. They discussed safety, camping trips, parents party and other activities for this year. Elections were held, and officers are: President, Eugene Madsen; Vice President, Kenny Shepherd; Secretary. Ricky Camp; Reporer & Recreation Chairman, Troy Lambertsen. Meetings are held on Thursdays. Their project is - outdoor cooking, and the leaders are Mr. and Mrs. Arlen Madsen. , Bar-B-- 4-- Troy Lambertsen, Reporter Our Club held our first meeting at the home of our leader, Mrs. Jeanette Poulson. We chose for our projects: Rocks & Minerals; Rocketry; Forestry. We elected officers. They are: President, Travis Poulson; Vice President, Jeff Harrison; Secretary, Doug Hardy; Treasurer, Lewis King; Reporter. Eddie Sorensen; Club Manager, Alan Briggs. Yep, it scents his cattle had been quite curious about that farm, equipment setting in their corral, and as he worked, they had a close look at that big tractor, and BOY. did those little wires, leading front each spark plug, look good really good! So they did what any normal, curious cow w ould do . they ate them! (Which does make starting one's tractor a bit difficult). Ruth Ewles was happy to have two of her sisters visit with her and Blaine Friday and Saturday. They were Mrs. Arthur (Mercedes) Sorensen, of Ogden, and Mrs. A. M. (Nora) Anderson, of Orem. Mr. and Mrs. Barney Jeffery visited last Wednesday to Friday in Salt Lake City with Thelma's sister and brother-in-law- , Mr. and Mrs. Lynford Peterson, and with Barneys sister, Mrs. Etta Bishop. They stayed with Lynford and Edna and enjoyed a birthday dinner for Barney at the home of his sister, Etta. Virginia Horne hosted her Birthday Club Tuesday evening. March 12th. at her home. Ten of the 12 club members enjoyed a lovely lunch and evening of visiting. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Sanders spent last Thursday in Provo. Ellis kept an appointment with his doctor, and everyone will be happy to hear the good news that Ellis is doing fine. They visited w ith Dees father, Frank Thorne, who is in the Willard Nursing Home in Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Williams, of Provo, and a young missionary visited with Juventa Mickelsen last Wednesday. The Williams have recently returned from an LDS Mission in Oklahoma. They are Juventa's . brother and sister-in-laBill and Virgie Nielsen motored to Salt Lake City Wednesday. March 13th. They visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Hatch and family, of Granger, and Chuck Nielsen, in Salt Lake. Bill returned home Wednesday evening, and Virgie stayed overnight with Jerrie and Ronald. On Thursday, Nellie Hatch joined Virgie and Jerrie and together they attended the 1974 Division I Gymnastic Meet at the Churchill Jr. High. of Valarie Hatch, daughter Ronald and a and Jerrie, student at Valley Jr. High School, participated in the event. Little John Hatch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Newell Hatch, of Salt Lake, returned to Salina with his Grandma Nellie Thursday night. Mr. and Mrs. Arvin Torgen-seenjoyed a' visit with their daughter, Mrs. Deloyd (Arva) Lund and with their grandsons, Kim and Scott, last Sunday and Monday. Arva lives in Eager, Arizona. The former Peterson sisters of Salina, Norma Robinson, Nao-m- a Rasmussen, Vivian Williams, and Verda Beach, spent a lovely day in Salt Lake City last Wednesday. March 13th. They spent the day at the home of a Mr. brother and sister-in-laand Mrs. Wallace Peterson, and visited with brothers, sisters, sisters-in-law- nieces and ttepnews. Mrs. Helen Noyes has returned front an enjoyable visit with her sons and daughters. Mr. and Mrs. David Noyes and Mr. and Mrs. George (Sylvia) Cobabe, and their children in Ogden. David is honored to be a member of the Tabernacle Choir, and Helen and Sylvia were thrilled as they attended the broadcast on Sunday, March 10th. David is at home, convalescing from surgery that was performed on Monday, March 11th. Many good wishes are going out to him. Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Torger-sespent Sunday, March 10th, in Springville with their daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Darr Allred. They celebrated RaNaes birthday with her. On Monday, the 18th. Sid, Lois and their son, Jim, motored to Salt Lake City on business. They stopped in Provo to visit with Bardell Dastrup in the Utah Valley Hospital. Visitors at Ruby Castos home 14th were her on March and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Dec J. Balle. Sr. and son. Chris, front Estes Park. Colorado. n Explorers Conference Set March 22, 23 Explorer Presidents Planning Conference w ill be held March 22nd and 23rd at the B.Y.U. Registration will be at the Richard's Building. Room 271. Iront 8:00 to 8:25 P.M. on the 22nd. The cost will be $2.00 per person. This will not cover meals. This, however, will cover materials, building rental and related conference expenses. All District and Stake Explorer Youth and Adult leaders should attend. For those desiring to sleep overnight, you should bring sleeping bags. Well, you could be Otto Tav lor, proud Aurora Town Board member, who met with the other Aurora Town Board members, just the other evening. for their monthly town meeting. guess that everything was relatively calm until the meeting adjourned, and the members headed home. Yep, it "Troubles come and troubles go was at that time that Otto gave Bur mostly troubles come!!" one of the other Town Board (You expected maybe members (he keys to the Town Aristotle!!!) Room, told him to go ahead and lock the building, and to just hang onto the keys . . . you see. he figured (hat someone else could be there early to open the building when the next meeting rolled around. Now, as everyone crawled into their cars and headed home, Otto was busy gabbing, but soon he found that if he was to talk any longer, it w ould be to himself. At this time, the Bishops, past and present, w ill be honored. There are nine living bishops. Relief Society President June Bosshardt is directing the program. Ethel and will narrate. Favorite songs of the bishops will be used to make a very interesting and inspiring program. Everyone from out of town Mutual age and over is invited to attend this program, which starts at 8 P.M. New Band Uniforms For North Sevier High 1 1 Jensen has written the script North Sev ier High School will be receiving new band uniforms w ith a delivery date set near the first of June. Fruhauf Company, of Wichita, Kansas, w as awarded the contract to furnish the uniforms with a bid of $144.63 per uniform. North Sevier expressed a desire to have the new uniforms for their music activities this summer, and Fruhauf, was able to promise an early delivery date. that just that remembered morning he had put his pick-ukeys on the same key ring as the keys to the Town Room, and now someone else had, upon his orders, taken those keys home, and he was indeed . . . stranded. Well. I don't know how Otto finally got home, but I'll bet it was embarrassing!!! Or you could be poor Bill Nielsen, who, being a dutiful farmer, drove his tractor and manure spreader into the corral so he could scoop up a load of "sunshine" and spread it on his farm ground. Well, he really did have good intentions, and he worked hard, and after he had loaded the spreader and shooed the cows out of his way, he jumped on his tractor, planning to pull it out of the corral and into the field One little problem the tractor wouldn't start. So, Bill investigated and .... ....
