Mrs. Tim (Doris) Bastian decided to go down to the Aurora General Store and purchase a few and she did just groceries that. After she bought all of the goodies she needed, she decided to gab for a few minutes with the owner of the local store. LaMar McBride, Jr. So they, along with other A.G.S. shoppers, discussed the latest local happenings, and after 15 or 20 minutes of . . . Did he really?? . . . . and wonder why she did that and guess whos pregnant now Doris left the store with a happy good-byand an armful of groceries. Just as she reached her car. she decided that she might as well pop into the Post Office, which is next door to the store, and pick up her daily mail. . . . and she did just that! But no sooner had she walked into the Post Office than a loud crash was heard. "My goodness," exclaimed Doris to Post Mistress Rae Thompson, "what was that?" Well, Rae didnt know , and so together they investigated the source of the crash. As they peered out of the window, they saw a familiar, light blue. Ford Sedan (minus the driver) had crashed into the front of the Post Office. "Gee, that looks just like your car," commented Rae. "Oh, good grief," squeaked Dons, "1 think it is!" Yep, it seems that earlier, when Doris had jumped out of her car, leaving its motor running, she had forgotten one she forgot important thing to put her automatic transmission in "Park" and had crawled out of the car and left it in "Drive. Why it had waited all that time to zoom forward, no one will ever know, but it was almost as if the little auto had wanted to tag Doris into the Post Office. Well, a small, crushed wire fence, in front of the Post Office, was the extent of the damage done, but that didn't make Dons feel any less embarrassed. And it didn't help much when sneaky LaMar yelled out from his front Hey, Doris, have you steps. ever had the feeling that you were being followed?" But, was absolutely not supposed to mention this little incident, and this little incident was absolutely not supposed to be mentioned to me . but then you know how cars are, they have a hard time keeping things under their hoods. 529-339- 0 your Drapes are not from the FURNITURE you are missing the best quality and prices available, see us today and or New Version Teacher: "Is your mother your father the boss in your house'5 Betty: "My daddy is the boss, but mommy does most of the talking, and thats what we go by. Many departments are now preparing for speech, drama and music contests, to be held later in March or early April. Each one of these contests offer scholarships and beautiful trophies to the winners. The NSHS Drama Department, under the very able direction of Don Flora, will be providing entertainment in this area for groups, clubs and organizations, and in so doing, will better prepare the students for the Drama Meet. The Drama Department, which last presented the Gay Nineties Review, has talent and skill and fine direction. With talent such as Jerry Taintor, Henry Dahlsrud. Lynda Dunn, Janice Holt, Calvin Hales, Doug Christensen, Mary Ellen Gurr and others, the Drama Meet should be a success. The Speech and Forensics Department is sorry to learn that Mrs. Venna Johnson is ill at the present time, and may not be with them for a period of time. But preparations for the Speech Meet are going ahead, full blast. Mrs. Foltz,, the substitute speech teacher, is doing an excellent job equiping her students with the necessary vocabulary and speaking skills. and Doug Doug Christensen Holt both received honors at the last invitational speech meet, and Collette Peterson was a in orations. With such talent, and the talent of Randall Heath, Tim Dahlsrud, Jared Sorenson, Kenny Poulson, Lynda Dunn, Janet Lund and others, North Sevier, again, has a department of which they can be proud. The Music Department, under the direction of Mike Hoopes, will participate in band and chorus concerts late in March or early April. The band is one of the better ones for our area, and we expect great things with the talents of Pat Robins, Kelvin Anderson, Lecia Ottley, Marlin Mason and so many others. It would be almost impossible to mention all the great musicians in the NSHS band. The Chorus, too, will be prepared for a Regional Chorus Festival, to be held March 27th, and is expected to bring home many honors for North Sevier. Something that most people have noticed is that where NSHS lacks in certain things, it adequately makes up for in the enthusiasm of our students. All three of these departments have displayed their great enthusiasm and their will to win. This should be the deciding factor in many a contest. South Roosevelt Utah 192 North 3rd East 722 Satina.
