The Bible tells us even His handiwork, the creation of this world, reveals God to mankind. God also reveals Himself to us through another way: He sent His Son, Jesus, that we might know Him. John 14:6,7 says this: Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have know my Father. Jesus came to this earth as a little babe to redeem us from our sins and to bring us back into right relationship with God. We celebrate this great event once a year, yet so many times we forget or dont even know what we are really celebrating. We call it Christmas, Christs birthday. The Bible tells us also in St. John that Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10). Then because He came does this automatically give everyone abundant life? No, we can look around us and see there are some very real needs in peoples lives. Why, then, if Jesus came to give us abundant life do we see these situations around us that perplex us so? It is because abundant life is given on a one to one basis. Jesus give to you, personally, when you ask Him to. The life is there, it is yours for the taking. It is a gift. Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. We are born sinners then, and we have a need for abundant life and a reconciliation to God. Romans 5:17 "For if by one mans offence (Adam) death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. This year as you hold that beautifully wrapped gift in your hands, may it be a reminder to you of Gods beautiful gift, the gift of abundant life. Have you accepted Hie gifb-tyou? It ' your far the taking, ail J yotr have to do is reach out and receive it. John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name. Saturday, will be Christmas program practice at 1 p.m. at the church. These little pieces of dust enter the atmosphere and burn up. As they do so, they create a flash of light. Meteors are often called shooting stars. One day a Star will enter our atmosphere but not to burn up but to take the Christians to heaven. This Sunday at the Bible church, we will be having our Christmas program and it will tell of this Star, Jesus Christ. A lot is being said this time of year about the birth of Jesus Christ but I wonder, is enough being said about the purpose for which He came? The Bible teaches that He came to seek and to save the lost and to show them the way into the Kingdom of God. Jesus told of another birth besides His own, which was essential for a person to enter into the Kingdom of God. In John 3.3 Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. According to a poll that was taken last year, over 50 million adults in the United States claim to have had a born again conversion. Are you included in this number? Would you like to be included? You can be, right now. But as John said, 1:12-13- many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of Tonight ot center Contata set Sunday by Baptists All adults are reminded of the Christmas dinner this Friday at 5 45 p m.
