School to Start Candice Derricott, four years old, is looking forward to starting the Head Start program this week. She wont have to go far because the Box Elder county Head Start school room is in Corinne school. For those parents interested in Head Start for three and four year olds, now is the time to make application, for next fall. It is described as a full program with medical and dental exams. Its goal is improvement of the childs health and physical abilities, including present mental and physical problems. JodiLyn is the daughter of Gary and Jolene Hansen of Brigham City. She has a sister and brother Trisha and Brady Hansen. Chase, Sandy Bennett, and Avery South Jr, great-grandparent- r, Conventions Corinne will be selecting judges for the upcoming Corinne City elections, nominating conventions will be held on Oct. 6. The Peoples party will meet at city hall at 7:30 p.m. The Citizens party will meet at the Corinne school house at 7:30 p.m. the same evening. Wesley Hansen is the chairman for the Peoples party with secretary Nadine Jones. And Clayton Morrill is the chairman for the Citizens party with secretary Norma Bosley. They will be accepting the city nominations from the floor. Corinne moose hunter Greg Harper has drawn lucky twice. He drew the bull moose hunting permit and he drew a rifle shot that won him his 1,100 pound bull. Gregs cousin wasnt as lucky. Lewis Harper fell off a fence, landed on his head, then layed on his right arm, breaking a small bone. This right handed will soon learn what it feels like to be left handed. He will have six to eight weeks experience while wearing his cast. We wish you a speedy recovery, Lewis. Sincere sympathy is sent to Junior Yagi and Milton Yagi and their families for the passing away of their mother Fusa Matsunaga Yagi. She died Sept. 16. She spent two weeks in Washington state, at Walla Walla, visiting relatives. Then she was home here briefly before spending a month in New Jersey. She was accompanied by her two young daughters Adrian and Jessica. While back east, she attended the Fred Richardson family reunion. And she was thrilled to see her brother George Richardson come to the reunion from South Carolina. One of the highlights of Gwens trip was camping in Missouri. She was with her some of the Richardson family, when they stopped at Hannibal, to enjoy .Mark Twains favorite storage ting. Corinne ladies have been busy putting up pickles, peaches and chilli sauce. This made a good reason for a visit from Beverly Silker and daughter Wendy who live in Orem. They spent a week with Bevs mother Melba Mills, putting up peaches and pears. At the end of their busy week Bevs husband Alan came to take them home. He shared the news of his recent calling as bishop in a new Orem ward. This ma&e the I Mills happy. Corinne Second ward meets at the stake at 9 a.m. and Corinne First ward meets at the stake center at 11 a.m. Corinne wards held a dirty family home evening, Monday. The family members worked on beautifing the outside of the Corinne church. Many community members have donated their time and expensive equipment to the project.
