Interim Pastor Richard Calhoun will preach at the 9:15 service. Deweyville Dateline Church leader Interesting visitors at the home of Mrs. Karen Hunsaker and family are Mr. and Mrs. Allen Brenchley, Melbourne, Australia. Mrs. Hunsaker and Mrs. Jack Rindlisbacher drove to northern California two weeks ago to get the Brench-leys- . They will tour the southern parks, and Nevada before returning to Los Angeles whre they will board a plane for the return to Melbourne later this month. Mrs. Brenchley was highly enthusiastic about Utah weather as they were receiving reports of the rainy winter season now in Australia. Mrs. Ray Gleason was hospitalized last week and Myrl Perry is improving following recent surgery. Mrs. Cloyd West is at home after a hospital stay and Mrs. Clara Gardner is at the home of her daughter, Jolene, in Brigham City, while she recuperates from illness. Mr. and Mrs. Rupert Black-hahave returned following a very special experience last weekend as they held their leadership training session at Weber State college. In on the good time were the Misses Kristine Grow, Tina Krause, Lori Gardner, Debbie Lish, Diane and Bonnie Gardner, Gail Adams, Kathy Riiie, Robyn Marble and Laurie Fryer. These girls have done an excellent job with their ball team during this summer. They and their coaches are to be commended for their efforts. Danielle Ivie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvyn Ivie, was confirmed by her father. AGO IN TEN YEARS PERRY . . . Aug. 3, 1967 Boy number three has come to live at the Reese Quayle home. Reese and Carol were blessed with their third son, Sunday morning, July 30, 1967 at the Cooley hospital in Brigham City. They have chosen for him the name of Brad. He was welcomed by brothers, Kenneth and Kurtis. On Aug. 17, 1877, President Brigham Young held a special meeting in Brigham City at which time he organized Three Mile Creek Ward, which was the beginning of the two Perry LDS wards. Now to celebrate 100 years, a special evening is being planned, beginning at 7 p.m. with a supper at the Perry town park. Chairmen for the dinner are Mrs. Jessie Hamson, Mrs. Velva Greenhalgh and Doyle Maddox with assistance from Mrs. Laurene Spendlove and Mrs. Alta Barnard. The supper will be followed by a program at the church house which will include Dr. Warren Burton from Utah State performing musical numbers and Hansen, secretary. Dale Johnston is the member of the bishopric over the Mutual. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS temple. They were parents of one daughter and two sons. Two are living: Richard Douglas Cannon is employed as a chemist at Thiokol Corp. He is married to the former Karen Eskelsen of Brigham City. They have a son Richard Douglas, a daughter Mrs. Jesse (Ann Christine) Ogemaw and a daughter Marion. They all make their home in Logan. Colonel (ret.) Jerald David Cannon is married to the former Rowane Zundel of West Fielding. They have recenlty moved from Langley AFB, Va.; to Kearny, Neb., where the former colonel is involved in real estate. They have two sons, David Mark and Christopher Knell, and a daughter, Teri Lyn. Mrs. Amelia (Chrissie) Cannon died in 1972. Douglas Cannon continued to live in Tremonton until 1975 when he married Esther L. Watkins. We would like to extend get well wishes to two women of the community who have recently underwent surgery. Mrs. Evelyn Tingey is now home and recovering following surgery at the Brigham City hospital a couple of weeks ago. Mrs. Sharlene Hiener is also home following back surgery last week at the McKay hospital in Ogden. A family dinner was held on Sunday afternoon at the Richard Dickey home. The occasion was to help Carols mother, Mrs. May Kent of Tremonton celebrate her 74th birthday. Reunion of Craghead family set Descendants of John and Joseph Craghead will hold a reunion on Sunday, Aug. 14, beginning at 1:30 p.m. at Snow park in Brigham City. Eagle scout Eagle awarded student Mark Newman, 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Newman of 463 South Sixth West, Brigham City, has received his Eagle badge as a member of troop 105 sponsored by the Brigham City Fifth ward. His scoutmasters are Leon Hyde and Ted Harrison. The scout is active in drama and student government at Box Elder High school and will be the school mascot the coming year. He carries a 3.3 gradepoint in his studies. Douglas Cannon of Brigham will be honored by his family at an open house on the occasion of his 80th birthday anniversary Sunday, Aug. 21. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the Bowcutt Reception center, 105 West Main in Tremonton, between the hours of 2 to 5 p.m. No gifts are requested. Cannon was born in St. George on Aug. 15, 1897, a son of David Henry and Rhoda Ann Knell Cannon. He graduated from Dixie High school and attended Dixie college for one year before interupting his education to enlist in the US Army. He was a member of Company H of the 20th Infantry. Later he again enrolled at Dixie college, graduating in 1920. He also attended Utah State university in Logan, receiving his BS degree, majoring in mathematics with a minor in exact science. After graduating from USU he moved to Tremonton where he served on the Bear River High school faculty for 41 years. The members of the Perry Second ward Mutual enjoyed a by Mrs. Max Nelson Members of the Perry First ward junior softball team took second place in the regional playoffs held last week at the Box Elder Junior High school. The boys had also taken second place in the Brigham City South stake after losing in a play off with Willard Second. Last Wednesday evening they beat Honeyville with a score of 3 to 1 and Thursday evening they beat the Seventh ward by 4 to 3. On Friday evening when they played the championship game they were beat by Brigham City 11th ward 7 to 1.
