The classes will begin at 6 p.m. with registration and the written test before that. The Box Elder county 4-- H Judges for this years event are Carol Ricks from Smithfield and Jay Crandell from Clearwill be riding in field. Approximately 70 three divisions and they will compete in the following classes: written test, fitting and showmanship, western riding, western horsemanship, pole bending and keyhole. will go on to The highest scoring in both the competition junior and regional senior divisions. As everyone knows, the 24th is on a Sunday, so we will celebrate early. For those of you who would like to know what is going on this day, here is a run down on the goings on: The day will begin at 6:30 a.m. at the bowery, with a breakfast. Everyone is invited to enjoy this great start on the day. At 7 the bell ringing committee of the DUP will start ringing the bell at the school house. At 9 the kids parade will begin, with the floats, bicycles, horses, etc... its the greatest of its kind, since the kids put it together. At 10 the ever popular baby show will take place, with the most beautiful babies that were ever seen. The races begin at 11 for all those that love to get out and run. Great Talent At 11:30 we will all get to see some great talent from town at the program that is held on the cement stage. At 12 : 30 the horse show takes place with some of the greatest showmanship these parts. At 2 p.m. there will be a ball game for all those interested in watching. At 4 the rodeo begins. At 6:30 a little league ball game will begin and at 8 the boxing and wrestling starts. Of course there is plenty to eat and drink all day long, with the hamburger stand and the pie stand being open throughout the day. It should be a full day of fun and excitement to help us all celebrate this important day. Wayne and Vickie Hardy and children Jared and Jamie returned last week from a short vacation. They visited the Arches National Park, Canyon-land- s National Park, Capital Reef National Park and then stopped in at Lagoon on the way home and spent some time there. They got to take their first airplane ride, which was quite exciting since it was just a small airplane. They camped out one night and tried out their new van and the other nights they stayed in motels in the areas. They had a very nice time viewing these beautiful places. Board Will Meet The Bear River town board will meet on Thursday, July 21, at the town hall. The public is invited to attend. Roger and Bette Dallin had quite a bit of company on Sunday. They had a Dallin up at the park and later on the Christensen family er got together at the Dallin home to help celebrate Bettes birthday. Its time again to wish the children in Primary a happy birthday. Those celebrating this month are Brady Nelson, Wendy Andreason, Scott Cusick, Marcy Andreasen, Aaron Hardy, Gary Sorenson, Jared Hardy, Alan Shakespear, Cindy Anderson, Travis Huggins, and Travis Hendrickson. Happy birthday to all of you! If you have noticed a shortage of young people around lately, its because a lot of them have been gone! The MIA girls just returned from camp and the young men in MIA just returned from Wyoming from camp. The priest group right now are on their super activity, theyre deep sea fishing. They are all being kept busy this summer with their activities and learning alot while theyre doing it. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Munns have had their daughter Marilyn and her husband Eric and children visiting for a few days with them. They attended church on Sunday with the other family members. Had Guest Mr. and Mrs. Oleen Nelson and family members have had a visitor this past week. Sandra Sprye of Salt Lake City came to visit with her grandparents and other members in her family. She stayed for a week and then left Sunday to return home. She is the daughter of Audrey, the Nelsons oldest girl. Varge Christensen and family of the San Fernando valley in California were here to attend a attend the 25 year reunion of Bear River High school graduates. They visited with their mother Carrie J. Christensen. The two boys spent Saturday night with Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Christensen and family and they all got together Sunday for a family dinner at Elmos. Also attending this reunion was Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gardner. Kathleen Christense, Ken Porritt; Peggy and LaRie Lucas spent last Saturday up at Dock Flat at the Mountain Man Retreat. They helped with one of the relay races that went on during the day. The two teams from our town werent able to place in the top four but they did do great jobs in representing the town. The boys got to watch some real mountain men that were a part of a muzzle loader group do some fancy shooting and ax throwing. They watched a man put up a teepee. They ate while there and had a great time. It turned out to be a good experience for all those involved. Attended Funeral Dollie Iverson attended a funeral in West Jordon, this past week. She drove down to attend the funeral for a cousin, Carl Nelson, and then drove back the same day. Get well wishes go out to Mrs. Ilene Nicholas, she was hospitalized for a short while, but she got to come home on Sunday. Get well soon. This past two weeks ago was a pretty busy time for my family. I traveled to Denver for a weeks stay with relatives and friends. While I was there I attended the funeral for a cousin. Other family members that took the trip with me were, Cresta Lee, my mother, Mrs. Merle Meadows, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Mangum and family, Daren Meadows, and Mark 18 ows. We stayed on a ranch that was 50 miles from the nearest town, and with no TV or phones, and it sure seemed good not to have to listen to them all day. My other two children stayed with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Christensen, and their aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Dallin, and course with their father. of The womens softball team lost its latest game. It has won three and lost three. They play their last game on Thursday, then they will play in the tournament to see what place they take. Good luck team. BC Red Cross Chrisa Biek's trainer courses set A national Red Cross trainer from Salt Lake Red Cross division will visit Brigham City to conduct two instructor training courses, it was disclosed this week. The courses will include multimedia and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The multimedia course will be conducted in the conference room of the county law enforcement building, 20 South First East, in Brigham City. It is scheduled Aug. 3 from 6 to 10 p.m. Only those who have a current multimedia card will be accepted," a spokesman said.
