Show BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Brigham City, Thursday, April 14, 1977 18 Utah Garland Gazette Buzzing Bear River Installation held by culture club Easter brought lots of activities by Karen Christensen Well, how did you all survive the Easter holiday? With the kids home for two extra days I bet there alot of extra tired mothers and fathers around town. Oh well, Im sure that it was all worth the effort that it took to have them home.. .just wait until school is out. Then the work really begins. There has been quite alot of activities around town that were in honor of the Easter vacation, but I have some news that should have been in last weeks column that I will take care of first. Mr. and Mrs. John Hardy a attended a dinner at the in Salt Lake City last week with all their missionary friends that have served missions in Nauvoo. They later met at a chapel and listened to Mrs. Earl Farnsworth from Provo give them a biography of Mary-An- n Young, a wife of Brigham Chuck-A-Ram- Young. They then each got to visit with the other people that were in attendance. There were 20 couples there that enjoyed the days events that reside all over Idaho and Utah. The Hardys had a very enjoyable time while there. They then decided to stay overnight in Salt Lake so that they could have the chance to visit with their son David. During their visit with him they were talking about the conference that was held ther and their son said that there were 20,000 men that attended the services just at the Marriot center. Just think of how many were in attendance at the other places that the conference was broadcast. Salt Lake must have been very crowded at this time with all the members that traveled to listen to this conference. They had a very nice visit with their son and then traveled home that day. Site of Dinner The cultural hall of Bear River City L.D.S. ward was the scene of a delicious dinner last week. The dinner consisted of two different chowders, a corn chowder and a clam chowder, which you had to take your pick of, a salad, a piece of home- - bread, and ice cream and cake. It was put on as a fund raising dinner for the boys in the MIA. They had it set up so that you could eat at three different times so that there would be no rush and you could eat in peace. They had entertainment for all three dinner times. The entertainment consisted of Dave Anderson and Leon Jensen singing a duet, Don Braegger playing a number on his saxaphone and Mike Nelson, Scott Nicholaisen and Neil Nicholiasen worked together on a gymnastics routine. Bishop Vernon Bingham also helped with the program. This is to help them with their super activity this year. They are planning to go deep sea fishing up around Oregon. The mothers of the boys that are going to attend this activity were asked to help out with the dinner. They all agreed to help which was a big help to all those who were involved with this. They also had extra help from Mrs. Bingham, she made the chowders and the bread. She was helped by Nola Nessler and they had special help from Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Starsiak. Neil Nicholiasen was the chairman for the event and all the other young men helped out in an way that was possible. They wish to thank alll those that helped in any way. The annual Easter dance was held at the Bear River City cultural hall last Thursday. All the young people were invited to attend this special dance. They all enjoyed the fun that is had by the dancing with their friends They parents have fun also get to visit while their children dance! They all brought their lunches packed in their Easter baskets and they spread out their blankets on the floor and had their lunches. They then concluded the evening with one more dance and everyone returned home with a bunch of tired an happy kids.
