Show eweyville Dateline Adams were recognized for Steak frys for a thanks by Alene Fryer The award for steak cooker superior goes to Jim Ririe, asl far as a lot of community members are concerned! He expertly served steak just like you want it to all those who attended the elder's party at the park bowery Wednesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Norr and Mrs. Ririe are also to be commended for their planning and cooking the delicious supper which was served to a large crowd. Everyone had filled who cooking assignments in the shack during the summer ball games met to enjoy it all. Quorum president David Thompson expressed appreciation to all those who came to carry out this assignment. He especially thanked Bill Bingham, Tim Barrus and Les' Fryer for the many phone calls and scheduling they did throughout the summer months to staff the shack. The efforts of Mrs. J.R., keeping the food and supplies on hand, and Nora and Wallace James received a little onion on a plaque for faithfully chopping all the onions for the thousands of hamburgers that were consumed during the summer! That took real dedication, as far as this reporter is concerned! Arrived Here Mr. and Mrs. Kent Blackham arrived this past week from California and are visiting with the Rupert Blackhams. They all went to the Dale Blackham home in Salt Lake City for a day and night early this week. Kent and Mary were going on o Provo to visit with members 0 oer family, then were to return to Deweyville for a day before returning to California. Bill Gardner also came from California last week to visit with tie Horace Gardners and other family members. Mrs. J.E. Scheib came from Pocatello over the weekend to visit with her mother, Mrs. Orace Fryer, who is in the nursing home in Tremonton and with other family members. Mrs. Inez B. Hill, Wellsville, and her mother, Mrs. Barrett, Mendon, visited a day last week with the Melbourne Grow BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Brigham City, Utah family. Attends Meeting Mrs. Wayne Fryer attended a meeting of the National League of American Pen Women at the home of Mrs. Elizabeth Laurit-zeThursday evening, in Brigham City. And,' for those who buy their papers at counters the price will double. 20 each instead of 10 each. ' However, if you act fast you may subscribe or renew subscription at the old rates. $9.00 per year for county residents and $1 1.00 per year for subscriptions outside of Box Elder county. And, as mentioned, you may sign up for as many years as you wish. By signing up for more years you not only avoid this price increase, but you can avoid other increases that surely will become necessary in the future.
