Stanley received his B.S. dein political science and certification from the state of Utah in social stadias. Stanley taught this past year at Roy High school in Roy. It will ttart out "bright and early Saturday punning, Mr. and Mr. Clinton Bhtt will bt serving breakfast to all those who desire it. This will start at 4:30 a.m. They will have help of count! That it an awful lot of people to sesve breakfast to! At 9:30 a.m. the parade will begin. It it under the direction of Mrs. Phyllis (Gordon) Holmgren. Everyone it invited to attend. The popular baby show begins at 10 a.m. under the direction of Mrs. Mary Gardner. This usually it one of the favorite points of the celebration. At 11 a.m. the races will begin. They are under the direction of Ritchy Holmgren. If anyone thinks they are fast enough to race, come and join in on the fun! Mrs. Bette Dallin it in charge of the program. This is an interesting part of the celebration because we get to tee others talents! The horse show begins at 12:30 p.m. Mr. Roger Dallin is in charge of this portion of the day. Baseball At 2 p.m. there will be an adult baseball game. This is under the direction of Jack Burt. At 4 p.m. one of the favorite items for the children is going to start, that is the rodeo! It is under the direction of Jim Anderson, Kim Chido and Craig Christensen. This is very fun to watch and see our children ride! Who knows, maybe there are some future rodeo champs right here in B.R.C! Roger Hendrickson is in charge of the little league game to be held at 6:30 p.m. The concluding item on the agenda is the boxing and wrestling that will begin at 8 p.m. This to sunder the direction of Mr.anJMlrs. Dee Ramsdeli. It sounds like the day is going to be packed full of exciting things to do! The stands will be opened for Hamburgers and drinks again this year so that none of us will go hungry! It is under the direction "of Bishop -- John Holmgren. The annual pie stand will be open again this year also. We get to taste all those delicious pies that hre made for this celebration! I can hardly wait! The pie stand is under the direction of Mrs. Rose Anderson. . i Preparation There are many who have been working to get the parks ready for this occasion for the past week and I would like to take this time to thank everyone who is helping in anyway to make this the best celebration ever! Dont forget to come to the park this day and get in on all that is going on. There is something for everyone and I think it will be well worth going! Leo and Elvira Hansen traveled to Jackpot to meet their children, Jack and Mary Hansen last week. They stayed there for a couple of days and then came back hdme with them to visit for a week. They had a very lovely visit while they were here. They got a little fishing in, but they mostly stayed home and visited. Jack and M6ry are from Irvine, Calif. The Red Hots really had a game last week that our town would be proud of! They played the team from Corinne and beat them 36 to 12! They had numerous triples, doubles and oven one or two home runs! Paula Anderson pitched for the winning team. That was their last game, now they play in the tournament this week to tee what place they will take! Correction Last week I put in some news that I received and I got the wrong Information." I feel like I had better correct it since there Is quite a big difference in what I wrote! The story was about the boys that went to camp. I wrote that they traveled to Brownie lake, they really went to Bartlett lake, they left on a Saturday and they are under the - direction of John Haws. Neil Nelson did help to take them up there, but he Is not their leader. I understand that they had a fun time. John Is a very good leader and does a fine Job with the boys. Im sorry about the mis- take! The Ventures left for Brownie lake on the 17th. They are under the direction of Bishop John Holmgren. I hope that that is the correct lake! Bette Dallin had an impromtu birthday party at her home last Saturday. She had a lunch for the members of her family. Those included were Bob Christensen and sons, Bryan and Kirk. Karen Hansen and children, Kyle and Stacey. Karen Christensen and children Alan and Gina. Bessie Christensen, Mrs. LaVon Dallin and Ed Brengall. They all had a nice time while there. son Vent in Brigham City and ' Congratulations Congratulations to the junior and senior softball teams! They both won the stake champion- ships for this year! Thats really good! The girls in the A.P.Y.W. went to camp last week also. They returned on Friday. They stayed in tents and cooked their own food and just took care of themselves. I understand that they had a very fun time while there. They went to Christmas meadows, and they said that it was very pretty up there. Mrs. Kathy Hall is their leader and they had help from Cam! Jenson as a junior leader. Blaine and Thora Anderson just returned from a trip to Canada last week. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Keith Barfuss and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kamely. They traveled to Lake Louise and then climbed aboard a ferry and traveled to Victoria. They then ferried to Seattle. There they visited with some relatives. They had a very nice time while there. his sister Sherry and her family in Garland. While Lowell and Betty were here their daughter Laurie and her husband Doug Temple and baby boy arrived and stayed a week. Mr. Temple was .very impressed with his first trip to Utah. They visited the cheese factory in Cache valley and the Bear lake area. Another event for the Lowell Andersons was the arrival of a granddaughter Sunday July 18. Mr. and Mrs. Vern Anderson of Brigham City are the happy parent and they have a three year old son at home waiting for his sister. Lowell and Betty left for their home Monday morning. fall. Both are currently under contract with the Arabian American Oil company to teach the children of their American employees in Saudia Arabia for the next two years. They will be leaving for Dhahran, Saudia Arabia in mid August, visiting several European countries on their travels ' east. insurance agency Weekend Visitors Mr. and Mrs. Don Shakespear and family had some visitors over the weekend. They were Mr. and Mrs. Vernal Shakespear. They are Dons parents. They reside in Tropic. That is down by Bryce Canyon. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Shakespear and Christopher from Salt Lake Ciy, Mr. and Mrs. Val Shakespear and Becky from Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Franz Shakespear and sons Davis and Ryan, from Tropic. They had all come up for a family reunion and then came here to visit with them for awhile. They had a very nice visit with them all. Ronald and RoseMary Jenson hadsome relatives staying snw mem & a few days last week. They were the children of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Wood. They are: Annalyn, Marianne, and Brad Wood. They live in Salt Lake City. They are the nieces and nephew of Rose- mary. They had a fun time coming to Visit them here. The Brigham City chapter of Young Farmers hosted the annual tour this year for the other Young Farmers of the state. Jack Burt is the president of the club so he had quite a bit to do with it. They had many interesting things to do and many tours for the other chapters to go to. They hosted breakfasts and dinners etc. and had a very good time while doing it. They traveled all over the county to different farms and dairy operations to see how other people run things. It all turned out very successful and the members of this chapter should be congratulated on a good job! Sandra Lewis and son of Brigham City were visiting Sandra's parents, the Dick Nes-sleon Sunday. rs The A.A. Munns family held their annual reunion beginning Friday evening with a dinner at the Reed Munns home. Mr. Munns and all 12 children and their mates enjoyed the festive affair. A planning meeting followed and genealogy sheets were exchanged. Saturday a picnic was held at the Bear River park including all family members. Games were planned but the wind took care of that, so they all gathered at the cultural hall where old time movies were shown which they really enjoyed. Betty Misrasi and Cindy and Brian, Jeanette Brown and Laurel were together in Salt Lake City Thursday. They visited the temple grounds, attended the organ recital, and took the beehive house tour. They then went to the university. Laurel wanted to look it over as she wanted to attend school there in from Weber State college in 1966 and did graduate work at Purdue degree troubled with phlebitis In his leg. We hope that he will be up and around soon! Verl and Orta Iverson visited the L.W, Iversons Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Anderson of Apacne Junction spent two weeks visiting their parents Mr. and Mrs. Vernal (Ike) Anderson, their son Mike and family in Ogden, and another each. crafts classes and square dance.
