With the 24th of July coming up this Saturday all of us who are natives of these parts will be remembering our pioneer ancestors. Ive been sitting here at my typewriter this morning thinking about this and have decided on two things I hope I have inherited from my parents: dependability and appreciation. world I g In this have found dependability is a fast disappearing trait. In fact, sometimes about the only thing I can depend on is that the birds will begin twirping about 5:30 each morning. I like Roy L. Smiths comment that, We cannot all be brilliant but we can all be dependable. As far as appreciation goes we all take too much for granted. I read something the other day that keeps coming back to me and Im not sure who said it, but its worth repeating. "Give people flowers when they can still smell them. And as Nicholas Caussin said, Don't be stingy with words of appreciation when they aret justly due. Everyone likes to be told that he is admired, respected and appreciated and liked. Now pull up that easy chair and lets have our little Party Line chat. Go Back Dr. and Mrs. Reed Merrill and children Susan and Jon have spent 16 delightful days visiting in the Northeast and Canada.
