Neal Nielsen of Reno, Nev., is here working for the BLM. He is doing some surveying in the Goose Creek area and is living at Amanda Pasketts home. He was a dinner guest of Rhea and Archie Toyn on Friday. Two other men, Neal R. For- cadastral sythe, supervisor surveyor, and Dave Provost also of Reno, Nev., will join Nielsen in a few days and the three will be working here until September. Home on Furlough Eldon Kimber is home on BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Brigham City, Utah June Thursday, 26, 1975 Overnight Guests Irma Warburton, daughter Rosemary, were in Logan Thursday and returned home Friday. They were overnight guests of her parents, Mrs. Angie Adams. Reese also attended meetings of the RC&D program. They brought home 13 Unfortunate Accident Mrs. Opal Kimber met with an unfortunate accident last week. She bumped her head on a board with a nail protruding. She had to have nine stitches in her head and has suffered severe headaches this week. Oren took her to Brigham for treatment and Monday he took her back to have the stitches removed. Im happy to report that she is feeling better. Patrick McClellan, from the University of California at Berkley, is living here this summer. He is doing a thesis on rock history, formation and etc. in this area. , Attending Stake Priesthood meeting in Oakley on Sunday were Bishop Lyman Kimber, Archie Toyn, Oren Kimber and Allen Tanner. On their way home they killed the largest rattle snake they had ever seen in our country. It was in the mud springs area toward the Carson ranch and had 8 or 9 rattles. Allen Tanner also visited in Oakley with Audrey and Vernon Teeter and family and with Darwin and Beth Ann Teeter. Set Apart Oren Kimber was set apart as one of the Seven Presidents of Seventies in the Stake. Ray Kimber, Jr., and his wife, Sharon, were here last week from Lynn for Eldon Kimbers homecoming. Bishop Lyman and Eula Kimber have been in Provo for a week where Bishop Lyman is attending classes at Brigham He is Young University. recertifying for his teaching position. They also spent a few days in Bear Lake attending the District Principals meetings. The Kimbers enjoyed a visit with Eulas mother, Mrs. Bertha Kimber in Salt Lake and also attended a session at the Provo temple. They plan to Karen's Kolumn Bothwell ThatcherPenrose two hired men. Dean and Fae Pattersen and three children are spending a few days here from their home in Kavsville. They are visiting Fae's mother, Mrs. Hattie Tanner. Grouse Creek will be having a July celebration this year. The usual events have been planned beginning with a program in the morning under the direction of Mrs. Naomi 4th of Kimber. Mrs. Irma Warburton will be in charge of the children's events, dancing, races and games. Two ball games will be played between the marrieds and singles. Junior Kimber and Ardell Simper of Lynn will be in charge of calf roping and team roping. Raymond Kimber has been chosen to supervise the races. horse Mrs. Raida Kimber will be conducting the dancing in the evening. Everyone is invited to attend. The Bishopric are in charge of the day and will provide lunches to be sold. Inserviee Meeting Inservice meeting was held on Thursday evening with Bishop Lyman Kimber in charge. Marge Thompson presented the lesson. The Bishopric announced that everyone is invited to the annual 24th of July celebration in Oakley. There will be the usual events including rodeo, parade and program. Rhea and Archie Toyn were in Burley last week to attend the Toyn family reunion. It was held at the home of Dwain and by Karen Stokes I met a rare and special individual during the week. A nice older gentleman that considers working on his tractor more fun than TV. Weve got about half a dozen around here that could use the same attitude. About 150 decendents of J.M. Stokes met at the Bothwell ward cultural hall Saturday for a family reunion. The group enjoyed delicious picnic lunches and socializing after which a program was presented by members. family Newly-electe- officers included J. Leo Stokes of Bothwell as president. Mr. and Mrs. J. Leo Stokes had as their guests during the weekend Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stokes and children Daphne, John, and Jason of Cedar City. They came for the Stokes reunion and spent a few days visiting friends and relatives in the area before returning home. The Bothwell ward will present an exhibit of old farm equipment in the Heritage Square exhibit to be held in the Salt Palace June 26, 27 and 28 in conjunction with June Conference. This event is free to the public and will be open from p.m. The exhibit will be set up under the direction of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Newman. 0 Attend Rodeo Attending the State High bar-bequ- Margene Lind. A lovely dinner and program was enjoyed. Gail Berchtold and three of her boys were there from Pocatello. Jerry was able to be there in his walker, and although he still doesn't have the use of his legs nor complete use of his hands, his condition is improving. Jack and Marian Kimber are Grandpa and Grandma. Gwen and Barney McWilliams have a new baby boy. He was born recently in Brigham and the family are now back home in Montello, Nev. The new baby will be named Britton Howard. now Walter Bowen to be speaker at fireside tonight A four-stak- e regional fireside will be held at the Tabernacle on Thursday, June 26, from 9 p.m. Youths ages 12 and above are invited. Walter D. Bowen, regional representative of the Council of the Twelve and a professor of church history at Brigham Young university, will be the speaker. Refreshments will be served. Ja-'e- k this year The Strength of the Hills will be presented in the evening under the direction of Mrs. Mabel Anderson with Jana Lee Roberts as music director. Mr. and Mrs. John Laws to Farmington, traveled Monday where they attended funeral services for A.W. Burns. Mr. Burns was a neighbor of the couple when they lived in Fielding. Scouts and Beehive classes of the AOYW enjoyed a bicycle ride and progressive supper Tuesday evening. The activity was under the direction of class leaders Dee Marble and Tonya Firth. The teachers for the classes are Bruce Summers and Donna Anderson. A missionary farewell will be held Sunday at the Bothwell ward for Elder Kit Crozier. It will begin at 7:30 p.m. Kit will leave for the mission home on July 5. He will be serving in the Tennessee Mission of the LDS Church. and family Red Cross board to meet The annual board meeting of the Box Elder County Red Cross chapter will be held July 10 at 7 p.m., at the home of Mr. William C. (Bill) Sackett, 75 South Third East, Brighum City. A pot luck supper is planned with a casserole and-o- r salad suggested, a spokesman said. Mrs. Stokes was very much impressed with the Van Gogh and Reitz museums. The Reitz contains the works of Rembrandt. They visited Amsterdam and the site of the Olympic games and where the Area Conference of the LDS Church was held. At Berchets Gaden and Chiemsee in Munich, Germany were the bunkers of Hitler. They had to hurry home Sunday to attend funeral services in Salt Lake for Dales af- Roese and furlough from the Marine 21 excited over the arrival of a beautiful little baby girl. She was born last week in the Cooley Hospital in Brigham and has had to stay in the hospital for a few days longer because of yellow jaundice. Betty has been staying with Mrs. Chloe Tanner in Brigham. Proud grandparents of this little girl are Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Kimber of Grouse Creek and Mr. and Mrs. Afton Nye of Malta, Idaho.
