This years tournament is slated for Tuesday and Wedon the local nesday, July course. I can always remember mother telling us about the snow they had on the 4th of July once here and it looks like we might make it this year. The poor garden in the backyard is struggling to grow, the thermostat must feel like a yo-y- o by now. Weve had it on heat in the morning and some afternoons had to turn the air conditioner on. But I guess all we can do is think about the words of Billy Graham, All the Constitution guarantees is the pursuit of happiness. You have to catch up with it yourself. So pull up that easy chair and well catch a little happiness from the events that have been relayed over the party line wires this week. Stork Reports The Party Line wires were busy with a couple of newsy little items from the stork set this week that I'm sure you will be delighted to hear about. First came word from the Tom Davises that they had named their twin sons Clay Justin and Clint Dustin. The twosome was born on June 1, and weighed five pounds three ounces and five pounds two ounces respectively. They really gave a boost to the male population at the Davises. The two boys joined big sisters Dusty Ann, eight; Hailey, seven; Shannon, five; Sabrina one and Thomas Lane, two. Sharing honors are Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd N. Davis of this city and Mr. and Mrs. Norris Brown of Kanab. Word from far away England brought the news that the Victor Lees were welcoming twin daughters. The Lees will be remembered here from their visit with Nat Allen last summer. Mrs. Lee is a niece of former Brighamite the late Tom Dunsford. The happy stork news related that the twin girls arrived June 18. They have named them Kathrine Sarah and Louise Anne. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Stanely Dierckx. From Indianapolis, Ind., the Party Line wires picked up news that Mr. and Mrs. Pen Hollist have a new baby girl born on June 20. They are going to call the new arrival Tiffany. The couple has two other children, Japan, six; and Lisa, two. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. William D. Hollist, and Mr. and Mrs. Delmont Beecher. Mrs. Beecher and daughter Gerilyn left Sunday for Indianapolis to help out with the new arrival. 8 and Knudsons daughter Mr. and Mrs. Hershel West Jr. and children Kevin and son-in-la- Kimberly. They went to Portland to see the Festival of Roses parade and toured the beautiful gardens of roses and philoden-deonThey visited one day with Mrs. Herbert Adamson and sons Steven and Matt in Springfield, Ore., and in Salem said hello to Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ballweble and Mr. and Mrs. Earl C. Angerbaur. Mrs. Owen returned home by plane to Salt Lake City and was met by her son and daughter-in-laMr. and Mrs. Robert J. Owen. Tour US Mr. and Mrs. Leon Hyde and children Betty Ann, Teresa, Cindy and Bret are home after a tour that took delightful them south then up the coast to Washington, D.C. and New York. They stopped first in Wichita Falls, Tex., and visited former Brighamites Mr. and Mrs. Larry (Kathy) Davis. From there they went to Huntsville, Ala. They spent three days and nights there and toured the Huntsville unit of NASA and were thrilled to run into Utah writer, Elaine Cannon. They traveled up the coast and stopped on the island of Chencoteague in Virgina for two days. They went to Glen Ridge, N.J., where they spent five days with his sister and brother-in-lathen traveled to New York City and toured all the interesting sites that famous city has to offer such as the Statue of Liberty, Trade Towers, UN building, to mention a few. Next they went to Washington D.C. and enjoyed the many historical memorials, took a tour of the White House and enjoyed some of the many inthe things teresting Smithsonian Institute has to offer, visited Mt. Vernon, and Arlington Cemetery. They stopped at Valley Forge, and travled on to Indianapolis, Ind., where they visited with former Brighamites Mr. and Mrs. Pen (Julie) Hollist. A steak dinner for 35 immediate family members was held at Maddox Ranch House preceding the open house Saturday evening. Among the many relatives and friends that called during the open house were their granddaughter and family Mr. and Mrs. Steve Hodgsen and children Eric, Dallas and Lisa of Phoenix, Ariz., who came for the occasion. Descendants of Brigham Jensen met at a family on June 14 at Rees Pioneer park. In charge of arrangements were Mrs. Dawn (Lozon) Reeder and Mrs. Robert (Corene) Jensen. Bear River Broncos Horse Club June 17 our club met at the Bear River City Rodeo Arena. Susan Grimmett called our meeting to order at 9 : 30 Present were: Sharia Fonnesbeck, Susie Andersen, Julie Anderson, Mark Williams, Emily Holmgren, Jeffrey Dallin, Sylvia Grimmett, and Susan Grimmett. First we took a written test. Then we watched a grooming 'demonstration given by Sylvia Grimmett. Other club members gave reports. Julie Anderson gave hers on face Emily markings. Holmgren told us about bridles. Sharia Fonnesbeck showed us some leg markings, Sylvia Grimmett reported on the origin of the horse, Mark Williams told us about the 5 basic colors, Susan Grimmett reported on teeth and parts of a horse. The next meeting was held on June 20 at 9 : 30 at the Bear River City Rodeo Arena. Roger Dallin conducted. Present were: Ricky Nelson, Susie Andersen, Julie Anderson, Tammy Anderson, Mark Williams, Emily Holmgren, Jeffrey Dallin and Sylvia Grimmett. We practiced the keyhole pattern, western horsemenship, and worked on backing our horses. Then western riding. we practiced June 23, our club met again at 9:30 at the Bear River City Rodeo Arena. Susan On Eagles Auxiliary sponsored lady golfers enjoyed the Coors sponsored high-loplay on Monday, with winners being Alma Bryant, Arlene Wright, Betty Allen and Barbara Jensen. Thelma Somerville scored two pars during the play also. Next Mondays play will be the Safeway sponsored best-ball tournament, and all members are reminded to contact Alma to register for Bryant at the event. With a variety of treasures ranging from soup bowls to nuts n bolts, the sale will be held 27-2- n. from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and open again at 9 a.m. on Saturday to remain open until all items are sold. Circle chairman Fran Holt states that there are furniture and household items, clothing and shoes, toys and tools, and lots of other items that have been collected for the annual sale.
