We would like to congratulate Susan on this accomplishment. She was a student in Mrs. Johnsons first grade class. These past few weeks found the students of the Perry elementary school very busy with many activities. The most important of all was the little world series that is held each year at the school. The students of the fourth, fifth and sixth grades divide into teams and then during their lunch break these games are played to decide the winning team. These boys and girls had a lot of fun and look forward to these games every year. May 29, June Mayor Pentathlon held on May 15 wai Richy Johnston. Richy placed second in the high jump. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Johnston. Richy. Scott Youngberg participated in the Pentathlon setting challenge' records in the high jump, long jump and the sprint at the Box Eider Junior high. When he participated at the Visit Museum Members of the third, fourth and fifth grade classes visited the Museum of Natural History at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City and also visited Bingham Copper mine. Teachers, Mrs. Lois Thorne and Cleone Wight enjoyed the trip with them. Mrs. Tuckers kindergarten class and Mrs. Johnsons first grade class took their annual trip to the Hogel Zoo in Salt Lake. The most exciting trip of all was the sixth graders field trip to Lagoon. This is an exciting way to climax six years or seven with kindergarten at Perry elementary school. Now that school is out Im sure theres mixed feelings among the mothers. But this is a fun time of year when families can enjoy doing things together and going on vacation. If summer ever gets here! Many of the farmers in the area have felt the effects of the cold weather with tomatoes and alfalfa freezing. - - Even the home gardeners have suffered. It was certainly sad to go out into our garden and see the beans and tomatoes all frozen and even the potatoes and cucumbers hurt by the frost. I hope summer will soon come. Reorganization In the Perry Second ward the Primary was reorganized last Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Corene Jenson was sustained as the new president with Mrs. Laura Jean Youngberg and Mrs. LaDine Rhodes as counselors. Mrs. Shirley Stack will remain as secretary. Released were Mrs. Susan Noyes, Mrs. Darlene Krambule and Mrs. Margo Wagstaff. Sacrament meeting in the Perry Second ward was given by Peter Rassmussen and his mother, Mrs. Anne Rasmussen. It was followed by an open house at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Nelson. The open house was to give family and friends of Peter to visit before he leaves on his LDS mission to Switzerland. Mrs. Anne Rasmussen was in the area from Huntsville, Ala. She flew in this past week and will remain until the first of next week visiting with family and friends. She would like to tell all her many friends in the area Hello and reports that the family really likes their new home in Alabama and are all well and very busy.
