Solemn vows of marriage were exchanged by Miss Susan L. Brockman and Ricky D. Lichfield in a ceremony performed in the Catholic Church of Ascension, Saratoga, Calif., on Nov. 23 by the Rev. Mark Woodruff. Parents of the bride, Lt. Col. and Mrs. Lawrence E. Brockman, Jr., of San Jose, Calif., hosted a rehearsal dinner for the wedding party at their home and also honored the couple with a home reception imthe following mediately ceremony. DeLoris Belcher, activities chairman, has arranged for a demonstration of modge-podg- e crafts by Lois Nelson of Darrells Pant and Glass hobby shop. All supplies will be available for a small fee, with members asked to bring a small photo or Christmas scene to be modge-podge- Dress for the activity day is informal since it will be a workshop session. Members will also be collecting and wrapping gifts for their two Christmas families. The adopted families have seven and five members. Especially needed are toys, games, puzzles and winter clothing. Canned and packaged foods may also be brought. This will be the final collection date for recipes for the club cookbook. Coffee and coffeecake will be served. There will be a nursery for one child in the at for two. No family and reservations are needed for ts activity day events. She is presently employed at Thiokol Corp. Welling is a graduate of Bear River High school and LDS Seminary. He served in the US Army and is a member of the Utah National Guard. He is also employed at Thiokol of the gifts. Lt. and Mrs. Brockman are former residents of Brigham City, and a number of local residents travelled to California to the wedding attend festivities. The couple honeymooned in San Francisco, with the bride leaving for her wedding trip in an unbleached muslin dress styled like the attendants with delicate lavendar and purple trim at the top of the hemline ruffle matched by a lavendar sash. Bridal gown Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal rewith gown length embroidered Alencon lace bodice and long tapered sleeves. The peau de soie skirt extended into a bouffant chapel train in the back. Her elbow length veil of bridal illusion fell from a headpiece of Alencon lace, beaded with tiny pearls. To complete the bridal ensemble, she carried a prayer book with pearl rosary beads covered with a large white orchid in the center surrounded by bridal pink roses and love knots. Maid of honor was Roxanne Hansen of Bear River City. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Ron Van Drimmelen, Brigham City; Shelle Heiner, Brigham City; Anne Brockman, sister of the bride, as junior braidesmaid. The maid of honor was attired in a floorlength gown of lavendar and white gingham check styled with a neck ruffle, puff sleeves and a wide hemline ruffle. A white ribbon belt with back bow and streamers to the hemline set off the gown, which was complimented with a lavendar picture hat and white gloves. The bridesmaids were similarly gowned in shades of Womens Legislative Council Elder County will hold its annual holiday dinner meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 6:30 p.m. at the Red Baron restaurant in Brigham City. Guest speaker for the evening will be Lorin N. Pace, Utah Legislator serving his sixth term in the Utah House of Representatives. He has been speaker of the house and minority leader and is well known for his leadership in legislative reform. Pace will speak on the citizen's role in and about the sunshine bills and other related topics. He is a graduate of Brigham Young University and holds a law degree from the University of Utah. He served in the US Air Force during World War II and has also been a foreign service officer in Washington, D. C., and Central America. He is a past mission president of the Argentine LDS Mission. for the meeting are Yolanda Allen and Nellie Wight, who are also delegates to the Utah State Womens Legislative Council and attend the judicial and governmental structure department meetings. This meeting is for members and their guests, with members invited to bring their husbands for this special occasion.
