Harris Mr. and Mrs. Parris Neal and son Allan left Friday for Bedford, Mass., after visiting with Mr. Neals parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chester P. Neal. Mr. Neal will continue his work in the space science field during the next four years while serving in the US Air Force Douglas L. Packer missionary returns . . . elder to speak BC on Sunday Elder Douglas L. Packer, recently returned from the mission for the LDS church, will be principal speaker at sacrament services in the Brigham City First ward Sunday, Nov. 24. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. and all friends and relatives of Elder Packer are invited to attend. While on his mission, Elder Packer served in Neustadt-WeinstrassKaiserslautern, Zweibreucken, and Pirmasens, and Frankfurt. He is a 1971 graduate of Box Elder High school and attended Brigham Young university for one year prior to his mission. A son of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Packer, 160 South Fifth East, he plans to return to BYU and study chemistry with plans to pursue a career in medicine. Germany-Frankfu- rt Promontory Reports Enterprise, Ore., Saturday evening. She visited in Walla Walla, Wash., with her mother, Mrs. Mary Pieper and with her brother-in-laand sister, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Reger and family until Wednesday when she and Mrs. Esther Coombs of Fielding returned to their homes. Mr. and Mrs. Devere Harris attended funeral services for Regional Representative, Carl W. Buehner at Salt Lake City Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Morris and Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Harris visited at the Lindquist Mortuary in Ogden Sunday evening with the widow of Sylvester Owens. They also visited in Clearfield with Mr. and Mrs. James Yarman and family. Mr. and Mrs. Donald J. Gibbs of Kaysville visited with Donald's parents, Mr. and Mrs. David P. Gibbs. Mr. and Mrs. Sylvera John of Malad visited Tuesday and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd John of Perry visited Friday with their mother, Mrs. Esther John. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Hoskins attended funeral services for Everett Cevering at Ogden Thursday. Girls Visit Marlene John of Laketown and Peggy Sue John and Paula Goodey of Logan spent Friday and Saturday with Marlenes and Peggy Sues parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. Wynn John. Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Hoskins and Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Gibbs attended funeral services for Mrs. May Flint Evans at the Chapel of the Flowers in Ogden Saturday. Boyce Flint, a nephew, conducted the service, gave the opening prayer and was also a speaker. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Hoskins and son Todd of Ogden were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Hoskins Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Duggan Allen and daughter, Sherri of Ogden were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell C. Hall. A large number of the ward High Priests and their wives attended the stake banquet at Malad Thursday evening. Fay Thomas, Fern Hall, Esther John, Sarah Howell and Ila Mae John attended sessions at the Ogden LDS temple Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Hoskins, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Oleen Josephson of Plymouth, attended a banquet honoring retiring PTA meets here by Doris Flint The theme classes, lessons conduct" of a P.T.A. and meeting was presented by Mrs. Donald L. Brown of Hansel Valley. It was given at a P.T.A. meeting held at Howell Thursday night. The P.T.A. memb-ber- s from Snowville, Park Valley and Howell were invited to attend. The refreshments were provided by P.T.A. president, Gary Fuhriman. The Howell school traveled to Box Elder High school, Wednesday afternoon. They attended the stage show The Wizard of Oz. The show was enjoyed tremendously by the students. The characters were so real it was hard to believe them as people made up the students said. Leo and myself, Phil, Tessa Reeder and sons, Stephen, Mike and Darrin enjoyed a trip to Twin Falls, Thursday. It was a clear, sunshiney day. I was amazed at the beautiful settings for the rest areas. After completing business we had dinner at the Depot Cafe. Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Larsen traveled to St. George by airplane, Electronic Systems Division at L. G. Hanscom Air Force Base at Bedford. Mrs. Gibbs Allen attended the wedding ceremony uniting her Rochelle Allen daughter, Larson and Raymond Danielson at the Community Church at Friday post masters at Sherwood Hills Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell C. Hall visited in Brigham City Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Smith. President and Mrs. Myron Sorenson and Elder and Mrs. Devere Harris visited seven Malad Seminary classes by invitation Wednesday. They answered questions asked by the students and joined in the discussions. They were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Winward and Mr. and Mrs. Lee at the Winward home. Mrs. Ethel Hall returned to her home Saturday after visiting for several days in Bear River City with her and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Thorpe and family. Shawn Udy spent the weekend with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Williams of St. John. Granddaughter Visits Mr. and Mrs. Craig Smith of Rexburg, Idaho came Friday and left their daughter, Ami with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Devere Harris while they went to San Francisco, Calif., on a combined pleasure and business ti ip. Mrs. Barv Roderick entertained eight little guests Thursday in honor of her daughter, Angela Dawn on her seventh birthday. The children enjoyed games and refreshments. Devere Harris left Salt Lake City airport Sunday for Wash., where he will attend a managers convention for National Public Insurance company. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Nielsen met Mr. and Mrs. Jack Oyler at Ogden and they all went to Salt Lake City where they attended Mets basketball the Stars-N.Y- . game. Lisa Cobia and Stephanie Budge spent the weekend with their grandparents, Mr. and Van-cove- Mrs. Devere Harris r, by Mrs. Max Nelson Sunday evening in sacrament meeting the Perry LDS ward bishopric was reorganized by Brigham City South Stake President, Arnold Gilbert. Bishop Paul Barnard and counselors Grant Young and Varsel Jenks were released. Bishop Barnard served as bishop for two and a half years and served for eight years as a counselor with two bishops. D. Reeder was Lynn sustained as the new Perry First ward bishop with counselors LeRoy J. Davis and Varsel S. Jenks. Ward clerk Reese Quayle, financial clerk; Lawrence and executive Wright secretary, Glenn Wagstaff were not changed. Bishop Reeder Bishop Reeder is married to the former Carol Woodard and they are parents of eight children. He had served on the Box Elder Stake High council for four years, served a stake mission for three years and for the past three years has been superintendent of the Aaronic Priesthood MIA. The Reeder family have made their home in Perry for the past ten years. Bishop Reeder has taught in the elementary and secondary grades in Box Elder county for 12 years. He runs the family farm. First Counselor First counselor LeRoy J. Davis is married to the former Diane Kundson. They have one child and one grandchild. LeRoy has served as elders quorum secretary and a counselor in the quorum for the past two years. g He is a resident of Perry and is employed at IRS and maintains a farm in Perry. life-lon- Varsel Jenks counselor Varsel S. Jenks is married to the former Minnie Warwood. They are the parents of nine children. Varsel has served as second counselor to Bishop Barnard for two and a half years and served as secretary in the seventies quorum for many years. Having lived in Perry for 16 years, he is employed as an industrial arts teacher at Intermountain school. In sacrament meeting it was Second Mr. and Mrs. Glen Morris were Ogden visitors Saturday where they attended temple sessions and visited with Mr. and Mrs. Craig Morris and daughter and with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Callister and family. Prices Effective Monday, November Sunday afternoon brought Mrs. Marvin Poppleton of Wellsville. Jay Brown, his grandchildren and their father, Don Woodward of Corinne rounded up his sheep Saturday. They trucked them back to Promontory. The sheep were summered at Blacksmith Fork. Teachers Sustained In the Aaronic priesthood Young ladies, teachers Becky Pettingill and Carol Dickey and Carol Quayle and Elaine Jenks were sustained on the service committee.
