A matter of particular significance and inspiration to me in dwelling on the events and people of historic note is the sence of accomplishment and determination they exhibited with often limited tools and monetary means. As a case in point, around the year 9 n a local resident developed his o n water system mostly with imagination and hard work. Included in the development were three tunnels in solid rock, one tunnel being about 135 feet long, a couple of reservoirs and over 4 mile of pipe to place of use. In our age of dependence upon the city, state or federal county, government for a helping hand it is refreshing to study a time when men and women found a helping hand on each end of their own arms to accomplish feats requiring imagination and lot of hard work to accomplish. We tend to measure progress in proportion to ease of living, however it is perhaps a mistake to ignore the virtue of hard work in realizing our objectives and dreams. At any rate it is of value in a practical sence to study historic events in our modern setting as a means of inspriation into the capacity of mankind to make the most of what tools or resources available at a given time. It is not too late to begin planning for the historic celebration in the town of Willard as at this date I believe it has been firmly determined that there will be a fourth of July in Willard in 1974. Local celebrations were encouraged in all the towns and cities of Utah by Brigham Young mostly to enhance and of who achieved the honor roll for winter quarter,-1974have been announced by Dr. Claude J.
