STAKE PRODUCTION e South stake sets readers' play BE The South Box Elder stake will present a readers theater presentation, A House of Many in two performances Rooms, locally, One will be presented Tuesday, Jan. 29 at 7.30 p.m. in the stake center. The other is planned Wednesday, Jan. 30 at 7:30 p.m. in the Willard ward cultural hall. The hour and a half long presentation features 18 cast members. The play is a true story about a Utah Mor .on family at the turn of the century. It depicts how they share their joys and sorrows. The production is part of Parent-Youtnight activities. h advisors, announced a dance will be held at the Belmont ward cultural hall Saturday Jan. 26 at 8 p.m. It is sponsored by the Belmont LDS ward and the Garland Second LDS ward. Tickets may be purchased in advance from the Lamb Service Station in Plymouth or at Jays Service in Riverside. Tickets will also be available at the door. The public is invited. Music will be furnished by the Westernaires. Happy Birthday Happy Birthday to Jason Jeppsen on his number two year. Pauline is cooking dinner and having Grandma and Grandpa Ralph and Eva Jeppsen over. Lolas Jensens niece Susan Austin was up Sunday from the University of Utah visiting. Mary Jeppsen went to California recently with the Faldmo Tours out of Bountiful. This tour took in all the things she had wanted to see. They stayed at Las Vegas and saw the show Hello Dolly. In San Diego they went to the world famouse Zoo and toured the bay seeing all the large ships. She saw "Sea World, and the L.A. Zoo. New Years Eve was spent at a Lawrence Welk dinner show. Most interesting of all however was the Rose Parade on New Years Day. The day before they were able to observe these floats in production. The floats are planned all year long details drawn and then flocks of people put the flowers on the floats according to the -- At community center pre-pla- n Registration the day before the big event. Valentines Day is coming up next month and guess who is running as a finalist for the sweetheart of the Weber State Sweetheart ball. Jana Johnson. This shows they have smarts down there at that college. Jana is also active on the committee which tours the high schools to promote Weber State and is on the council which engages the lecturers for the year. It sounds like Jana is truly involved down Ogden way and says she enjoys it. All the parents and boys and girls in the class in Sunday school were sad to loose Ralph Wyatt as their teacher when he was recently put on the high council. When they realized pretty Jana Richards was to take his place however they decided that would not be so bad. Very Interesting about this class is that they have a helping mother book now. They have to decide each day the best help Kaiser. This is a new activity and a balanced, nutritous luncheon is served for 64 cents. The menu this week includes roast turkey, potatoes and gravy, fruit, Jello, dressing, dessert and coffee or punch. Following the luncheon on Jan. 28, it is matinee dancing time. Come have lunch and dance to the taped music of the Hull and other fine recordings, presented by Lowell Walters, Mrs. Kaiser said. Each Monday there will be a orchestra luncheon followed by bingo the first and third weeks, including birthday honors, and the second and fourth weeks will be for dancing. Matinee dancing is fun! Get started enjoying this new activity. After three successful luncheons, this will continue as a regular function of the program for retired persons, the director stated. Wednesdays craft class is still functioning with a substitute teacher. Lura Handley is having a rest after four years of volunteer teaching. She broke her ankle during the holidays and is unable to teach the class. She is missed by the class and hopefully she can get back soon, the director noted. Cards for the ladies on Wednesday is a successful activity. Sandwiches are served with chips, cookies, coffee and punch for 35 cents and once a month a party is scheduled with party fare and prizes for 50 cents. There are two or three tables available for reservations. Standing reservations are arranged for the regulars but new players are urged to enjoy card playing, bridge, canasta, pinnocle or any other game your foursome prefers. if you wish to join Call this group, in the lounge. New Friends New friends were made and good food enjoyed when the senior harmonica band traveled to Brigham City from Salt Lake Senior center to entertain with their music. Ab Barber, who is a director for the Salt Lake Recreation Department, should be commended for his work with this group who travel over the state performing. There were 45 in the group who enjoyed the 64 cent luncheon of pork chops, potatoes and gravy, dressing and string beans, corn bread, ice cream and cookies, coffee and punch. Next Friday, Jan. 25, after the luncheon, Otto Dover from Ogden will present his banjo music and lead the group in song. THE FUTURE?
