Mrs. Lyman Wight recently returned from Burely, Idaho after visiting one week at the home of her daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Robert (June) Hamilton. June had spent one week at the home of her mother before this. Visiting Joycle and Lloyd Poulsen a couple of weeks ago was their son, Sgt. Niel Poulsen. He came to spend a week with his parents and to visit with his grandmother, Mrs. Bertha Just a few more days and 1973 will come to an end. 1974, a new year always brings hope for the future. This is the time for new years resolutions and looking back on the old year. It has been a year of progress, a few changes in the town of Perry. son-in-la- Good Year it was For the farmers a good year for sour cherries, apricots, and row crops, but there were no peaches and few sweet cherries because of the cold spell we had early in the year. One of the biggest trials the people of Perry faced was the snow storm that cut the power of many homes for as long as four days. No electricity was bad enough but when the water also stopped we really began to appreciate our modern conveniences. During the year the new sewer system has been coming to completion. Most of the residents are now connected and enjoying this new convenience. The rest should be by early spring. Wight. Last Wednesday evening the Perry town board assisted by the town Christmas committee hosted a town Christmas party for all residents. The little ones had an opportunity to give Santa their last minute order and then all who attended were presented with a large sack of candy and nuts. Friday evening the Perry ward Cub scouts held their December pack meeting at the ward cultural hall. It was conducted by cubmaster Richard Dickey. The flag ceremony was presented by Carol Reeders den. Awards were then presented by Dickey to Kendall Reeder, Mike Wright, Brian Billings and Roger Bradshaw, each receiving their Bobcat pins. School Program The Fielding Elementary school held their Christmas program Thursday with all classes participating. The sixth grade girls did special marching and the sixth grade boys participated in tumbling and acrobatic stunts. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Mason visited Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Mason and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jackman and family in Salt Lake City Tuesday. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. Dent Mason in Ogden and enjoyed dinner at the Ramada Inn with Mrs. Reta Sharkey and Mrs. Kathy Larson. Enjoying Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with Mr. and Mrs. Rollin Thomas and family in Soda Springs were Mr. and Mrs. E. family, Mrs. Lucille Cottle and Mrs. Ethel Keyes. Miss Geri Jones entertained at a party at her home Friday evening. Guests included Tami Rogers, Kim Hunsaker, Kristi Lish, Christie Conger, Patti Brough, Pam Labrum of Tremonton, Ilene Udy and Cindy Scott of Fielding. A delicious supper was enjoyed followed by an evening of fun games. Bishop and Mrs. Ross Rudd and family were in Ogden Monday to see the beautiful lighting in Christmas village.
